Hi everybody, superpi has been for years de benchmark that we use for teste our CPU performance,
so I think that it's time to change, I found a new program, that calculates the
Euler Constant (2,7182818284590452353602) instead of the PI (3,14), and I'd like you test it
to see what you think. To test you need to do this:

1- Download the program here (http://www.doompc.com/download/ecalc_win_en.zip)
2- Execute it
3- Go to Calculate -> Calculate -> Choose the number of digits (256k - 262144) and then click OK.
4- Wait
5- The program will show the time that the calculation took and a security number to avoid cheats, don't click ok yet.
6- Run CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-127.zip) and take a screenshot that show the result and your CPU.
7- Post the screenshot on the topic.

Here it is an screenshot example:

I still like SuperPi

this does not calculate euler's constant(g), it calculates euler's number(e).

i dont like to brag, but that has to be the smartest comment ever made on the internet lol.

same , the original superpi is better for me.

but anyway,thanks Shadowwarrior :toast:

Indeed, it also relies solely on clockspeed. Seen XP's beating 64's on other forums :p:

I like it, great benchmark.

I think I am gonna keep this one for a regular part of my arsenal.
it's a cool little benchmark, and the 262144 is nearly a perfect benchmark to try and standardize, since its alittle long, but not too long, but very accurate in details.
I like it.

doesn't seem to take advantage of SSE3, but thats ok with me.

does seem to take advantage of 2MB L2. :)

in your case I would wonder if the much higher IPC of the Dothan is the real secret behind that score, not the larger cache.

well yep high IPC is a secret but i do not think the only one. That fast L2 is the real secret i suppose.
Than bandwidth w/ this test seems to be less important than core speed. [at 2295 153 3:5 255 1.25.93]

:D Hm, I don't want to vote for or against it yet but I think even if it will be the new No.1 it will last till our kids are grandfathers..... :toast:

shadow warrior's is 1.3~ times faster than mine with more than double the clock, what's the deal???

the faster one is at the following timings

3-2-2-5-7

slower one is

3-3-3-7-9
