dr DIVX like program

I'm looking for a program like dr.DIVX that will enable me to convert ANY filetype into a divX movie. freeware off course because otherways I would just buy dr.DivX :)

so,could anyone help me? this is NOT to rip DVDs or something so no DVD rippers, from like mpeg to divx or something

VirtualDub is good but it won't open certain file-types such as .WMV, and it won't let you use an MP3 as the audio source for a video, nor will it let you save the audio out of a video as an MP3. People have made their own versions of VirtualDub that support these features although I can't think of what they're called right now.
