I have 2 Thermaltake Truelights which are LED RAM Heatspreaders. Each one has their own 4 pin molex power and a switch for empty PCI slot backplanes. Connecting them to the RAM LED is a 3 pin connector. The switch just gives you eight different lighting modes. Product page with tech specs. (http://www.thermaltake.com/coolers/memory/cl-c0001TrueLight/cl-c0001truelight.htm)

I'd like to:

1. Put them on just one switch. One set of B/W wires brok off the back of one switch. Can I safely solder this set to the other switch so that the both work in parallel/do the same light scheme?

2. Can both be power from one 4 pin Molex. If so, what is the wiring scheme?

3. I need some recommendations on low price but quality soldering irons with tip recommendations also. First time solderer.

4. 2ND PROJECT - relates to question 3. I'll also need a tip to perform this soldering on the back of an LCD panel. So it'll need a tip for that, too. This Mod (see page 2) (http://www.bit-tech.net/article/136/).
