Does it work as good as it looks?? Its the Abit AN8 Fatality. Yes, it is good, but there is a few glitchs such as only NF4 Ultra chipset for a more then 200$ board.... Limited voltages options.... The DFI is still better...

there wasnt any 01 or 03 benchies run only 05. the best wasnt much higher than what opp was getting b4 the comp. Macci was able to match the others scores on air though... hmmm at least thats what chilly1 told me!

IM pretty sure nothing was going on on sunday....just cleanup. Macci did stay and bench way later than anyone else on saturday night though....It was around 1 or 2am when I left and he was still going at it with 05'.

ATI had there own volt mod man with them. He modded all the motherboards and video cards. The guy was great. He used very tiny wire.

As of 10:00 PM there were 2 fried X850s in the back. One fried by Opp and the other from Micci.

No one told me about the NDA when I asked about taking pic of the rigs there. Here is one of the closeup pic of the mobo I have now the NDA is lifted.

It was a great weekend with loads of great overclockers and some xtreme action: triplestages, autocascade, huge ln2 tanks, dryice...
It was a pleasure to be a part of it. Also a great pleasure to meet such great guys. Thumbs up to ATI & co. for organizing such event :up:

As far as hardware goes... I didn't kill anything! :D

I believe OPP got the highest score and reached over 8.7k with his x850. Fugger got past 8k too but not sure how far? Fugger tested a lot of different platforms during the event and with chilly1's help used some 'never-seen-before' cooling action (ln2 direct feed from the tank, for both CPU and GPU!). Great show!

My plan was to make sure I get everything doing the speeds needed for a record (meaning CPU, ram, video). Never got the whole 'pack' doing it all together. CPU (fx55) would run over 3.6GHz (spi1m @3633MHz, 1.75V) with fairly low voltage, RAM (OCZ VX) would do near 270 2-2-2-5 at only 3.4ish and finally I got the card up to 837/685 too. But like I said doing it all together just didn't happen this time. Ran out of time.
I hit 8376Marks while testing the card speed at 837/685 and that is with CPU at default speed (2600MHz) and slow mem timings and old driver ;) At that point it was nearly sunday and we decided to call it a day and start packing stuff.

I have to add that the PC ice cascades I was able to use were easily the best coolers I've ever used. Capacity indeed ;)

Bare hands is not so bad: only if u stuck ur hands for lets say 5 seconds in the ln2 container, u will notice much. U saw the video? Well, if u get some LN2 on u'r hands it will vaporize very quickly. Huge amounts would be bad because they last longer.

If you would dip you hand into the LN2 you would actually have a grave paraliz to your hand if not all your arm. At -XXXC you don't send any "signals" anymore, so it kinds of "close" that "port".... Sorry I don't know the english words;). (And I know what I'm talking about on that subject;)).

Uhm that yellow part is part of the VIVO stuff. It's a CD audio cable plug. The PCI express power connecter is next to it in black.

I'm pretty sure on this, i don't know why they are hanging from that though.

So can you tell us who he is and what he does at ATI? I'm sure that there are quite a few engineers at ATI who know some juicy secrets about mods but can't be public about that sort of stuff.

I have a friend who worked at a bike shop in Virginia and he said that every once in a while someone would bring in some crazy messed up and modified bike for repair and you could always bet they were a NASA engineer. I'd like to see the home computers of these ATI engineers.

If i remember correctly your not allowed to ware gloves handling liquids that cold . Cant really remember the exact reason though , the quick vaporizing when in open air had something to do with it . It was something like , normally when you feel you touched the liquid you'll pull back very quickly and it will vaporize before the skin can drop to a temperature which will harm it . If your wearing gloves , the gloves will go cold and you'll be exposed to extreme low temperatures for longer . Something like that
