Nice interview!
Great to know a little bit of background info about Oppainter. This way, we get to know that he's just a "normal" (in terms of his appearance and behaviour I suppose :D) human being, just like we are (well, nearly), and not some sort of god with a special interst in overclocking. :)

Yeah and the last question again demonstrates, that women and computers normally can't get along easily. They just feel threatend by those mysterious machines. They always think that we spend more time on working with the computer than we spend talking to, and "working" on them. Unfortunately I have to admit, that often they are right.

Yea its nice too see the man behind the scores... In a perfect world cats no longer go along with overclocking, women do :D

I like the part about what his life would be like without computers. Sacrifice the wife for the computer

A friend of mine once posted:

1) Play with your girlfriend
2) Play with your computer
3) Play with yourself
4) Play with fireworks

Nice list isnt it? :D

he's a webdesigner, eh? fireworks.. pfff

anyway, yeah, that was the one sentence of the interview that made my day today. classic.
also, while i'm not exactly thrilled it's a .doc file, i could read it at the office. at home i don't have any wordprocessing soft besides notepad & write. sometimes write can't handle docs with embedded images...
great interview, though i'd like it to be a lot longer :D... maybe at the "clash of the titans" (tm) this coming weekend?

For this question

"Any overclocking-related superstitions? Do you have a pair of underwear that helps you complete benchmark runs?"

I was hoping for

"Yes, I always wear my lucky bowtie and DJ. That's dinner jacket, not Digital Jesus ;) "

Regards

Andy

:D

Yeah, it could have been longer and with a question such as "how much time do you spend with your setups" and/or "how much social life do actually still have? You mentioned going to party's was on the days' list before".

Oh yeah, didnt notice that. Could be ambigous really but at that time 2 firework factories here in Denmark blew up (as in literally blew up, we had free fireworks for about 4 days straight), so it was his nice cynical rip into the system. But he's also a web designer, though I wouldn't be fond of fireworks either way :D

In a perfect world cats no longer go along with overclocking, women do :DVery true, very true :D

This and interviews until the event are not "live" by the way, questions were asked and answered all at once. We should have some live interviews from the event (to go along with the pics, the video, the bee - soda . . . ;) )

Great interview Matt and OPP! I really enjoyed it, although it was too short! You left me wanting to know more, which I guess is good.
Good stuff...

if you don't have Word, and just wanna read the interviewer.
then Microsoft has a DOC viewer for download here.
it's just a read program, doesn't let you create anything.

Final question: if computers and the art of overclocking did not exist, what would you be doing now?

I would probably be happily married :D 

Good one man, that had me goin for quite a while... :p: ;)

Nice one, always good to hear that the most revered people in this community started off in the same way most of us did, ie just messing around with this mysterious box of tricks!
People are always threatened by what they dont understand, so i guess girls are threatened by a man's relationship with his computer (parts).
