So, which of these two OS's will give me better FPS in games? Win2K with Service Pack 4 (I think that's the newest one, correct me if I'm wrong) or Windows XP with Service Pack 2.

ive run both and i dont see a difference truthfully. In games the difference is so little i dont think its worth it to upgrade to xp if you alread have 2k. Most becnhmarks (3dmark 2k1 2k3 and 2k5) seem to like windows 2000 though

Win2k. It's less bloated and a bit more stable than XP.

This is for my new system. Currently, I'm running Windows XP with Service Pack 2. I have both OS's though, just on different PCs, so I can't compare the performance.

Thanks for your replies so far.

Anyone else?

Windows XP. You can disable most of the bloat if it bothers you and Windows XP's boots much faster.

yep XP, although it may be a little slower, it is not noticable by any means. The big plus is that with Windows XP Pro, you get a free upgrade to XP-64 :banana4: :banana4: :banana4:
