I am gonna build a new A64 Rig here soon, hopefully if parents will let me..
What do you guys think of the following:

Extreme Gamer Vortec 600W

Raidmax Samurai 908 ATX Mid Tower Case (Still debating on the case)

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester Core ( I dont plan on overclocking, this is gonna be a pure stock gaming rig, I already have an overclocked rig )

Debating Mobo, dont really know whats good, can someone suggest something? Either MSI or DFI is what I was thinking, I have been using DFI on every build I do and love them, customer service is great!

Some good memory, once I again I havnt really looked into 64 bit platforms and DDR2 memory and such.. Im still stuck in the 32 bit world, can you blame me?

Hmmm the topic is open to all suggestions and comments and sorts..

P.S. I run a eVGA 6800GT now.. I was thinking of goin sli.. I will have the money, so basically this is a no budget system and I want it to be my dream rig basically.. Something I will never need to worry about upgrading.. Something that will run the games of the future.. Ya know? I am going all out.. I am gonna start working on a phase change system.. I am gonna phase change the CPU.. and Water chill the video card(s)...

Sounds good? Later guys.. :toast:

I was thinking about goin dual core cpu whenever those come out.. I know I read something about INTEL really getting into dual core.. Like I said, I have no budget on this rig.. and basically I want the best of the best.. Something that will last forever..

Thanks guys, later

I try every exuse immaginable.. They think since I am only 14 I dont know what I want to do.. They think If I spend the 1,500 I got for Xmas from my loaded grandmother on computers I will wanna turn around and buy something different and I wont be happy with anything at all..

I am gonna take all computer courses next year in high school though, so hopefully once they see my grades in those classes.. They might be more convinced..

They already know I am a guiness when it comes to computers.. I built my first rig and it worked fine.. They are proud of what I can do, but dont understand why I cant be happy with:
A 32-bit AMD Mobile
DFI Lanparty Ultra-B Nforce II
And other, not close in performance to A64 Chip parts.. lol..

Hey I am happy with this rig, it runs doom 3 on ultra quality at AF 16x, AA 8Xs, and resolutions set to 1280X1024X32 but its no 64 bit computer.. lol..

What a weird thread :stick:

You have a nice rig which you enjoy, so just save some $$$ and get the hottest hardware coming next round (ie dualcore FX's, AMR, etc...) You will always have to worry about upgrading, market cycle is changing every couple of months, and it changes very fast, there's always something new & improved around the corner... that's how the market is.

a very odd thread indeed, but i wish they would make dual core Xeons, if you could double these up it would make like 4 procs, then if they had HT enabled it would be like 8! This would tear D2OL up! I forsee heat being a major issue in dual core chips, especially the prescott based ones. Im very eager to see what intel decided to u se as the stock cooler for their dual core chips.
