type in E7205 in pricewatch, and asus boards come up. this is probably preorder and from a shady company, but at least it means it should start showing up from more reputable companies later.

Do not order from My Infinity without that credit card, forget a debit card.

I noticed ETA 11/30 , 6 more days till i get my GB :slobber:, that only holds true if a more respectable company gets them in by then of course.

Im gonna hold out for the gigabyte, No way i can wait 2 months for an Abit if they even make it.

As for asus, I still have a bad taste in my mouth from a p4t533-c and the p4t533. "extreme overclocking" my ass on the back of both boxes.

i'm going with the asus (never bought the p4t's so no bad experiences yet), i would like to go with the gigabyte but i think that dps card is going to block my rear exhaust from my case

you don't have to use that DPS card. i'm not even sure it comes with the board, ins't it optional?

PureBooYah

INTEL has definitely problems with the E7205 yield. Even the big manufacturers do not get enough quantity, and the small get nothing, that is why ABIT for example has dropped the GB7. Asus Japan announced start of sale sales for November 18, and even now it's not selling yet, but they have boards, I have seen them.

Doesn't that Asus GB board not have IDE ports on it, just SATA?
I thought I read that somewhere. Impossible.

Nah it has both IDE and SATA, i ordered the deluxe @ $219. i'll let you know if they ever ship me one from the only place that has one and keeps moving the ETA up and price

I wonder how expensive dual E7205 are gonna be...

Since Xeon arent that much more by themself...

I suppose if someone chooses to release such a board it would be in the $350-400 range.

dual boards are actually E7505, not 7205. i think upwards of $400 is about right.

Apparently, the E7205 is also SMP capable (which isn't surprising as the E7205 and E7505 MCHs should be identical) and some people believe there will be Xeon boards based on it.

I think a more likely solution would be an E7505 ATX board from Tyan (similar to their Tiger i7500 board). The E7205 Xeon board would certainly cost less - E7505 motherboards are anywhere from $450-700.

I saw a MSI GB mobo in Europe a few days ago. 325$

And MSI is the cheapest of the bunch...

Hye Deez,

how's your 2.8 for $199? Mine sucks. Won't do 3300 at 1.75 stably. Locks up at 3400 at 1.80v even. AND I'm phase cooling :(

Is yours a Costa Rican too?

i haven't had time to use mine so much yet. i dropped it in an asus P4B266-C, and it wouldn't work. i think it was a Bios issue. so i dropped it in a crappy MSI 645DX board, with only 1.55 vcore, and no PCI lock, and it booted up at 164 and ran most things fine. tried 165 and it had problems. so haven't had a quality board to try it in just yet (damn granite bay!).

was all set to buy a PE board and 512 3200 corsair yesterday, but bought 2 18" dell LCD's instead, so no money  until next week. i will report what it does.

you know what, i searched long and hard (that sounded gross :p ) and i can't find it anywhere. no country listed anywhere on the box. i thought somebody mentioned 2.8's were only made in Malay.

TechTones

Nothing listed on the box? Come on Deez. This is Intel.
They surely mark the country of assembly. It's right on the chip too 4th line.

nothing on the box. but i did finally look at the cpu, and it is indeed a costa rican. i'm not too worried, i can easily sell it for what i got it for, most likely even a profit, if it turns out to be a dog.
