whats your multiplier and bus speed?

DaGooch
12-05-2001, 10:43 PM
All of them are at 266FSB and a multiplier of 11 or 11.5. I have a 4 disk raid 0 array on my main system and I can not afford to use a non-standard fsb speed due to the pci bus not being 33mhz and possibly causing data corruption.

You should easily be able to do 1533 and possibly 1600. What heatsink are you using presently? An Alpha PAL-8045 should fit your motherboard. Not too expensive considering it is a copper and aluminum hybrid with a 80mm fan.

currently, im only using the stock hsf that came with my Athlon boxed CPU w/ Arctic Silver. I'm waiting for my waterblock to come in so i can switch it out, then i will O/C it more, so i don't want to buy a new hsf right now, because i wouldn't be using it for very long.

For overall system performance, gotta go with the higher FSB settings.

How do your components handle it? I have never figured out how people get their FSB to run over 150+ My LAN card won't work above 142. :(

i've had my XP1600+ up to 1630 (155x10.5) but now i've backed it down to stock again, since the fan on the Volcano7 was driving me nuts at 5000rpm. this keeps it around 4000, which is better. once i get my water cooling in i'll be unlocking the XP and seeing how much better i can do. hoping to hit 1666 (266 increase, same speed as a 2000+ but i'll have a higher bus that a stock 2000+ :))

Welcome to the forums!

1630 is a sweet overclock for a 1600+. I know what you mean about the fan, I have a delta! :D When ya get that w/c setup, you should be good to go. (I'm betting around 1700+)

Welcome to the forums...

very impressive overclock - and how does the volcano 7 bother you?

LOL you would HATE my case ... 5 80mm fans and a 120mm blowhole - and I am not done yet ... loud enuf??

phantazm03
02-25-2002, 09:22 PM
its just a really loud humming, makes it hard to sleep as the computer is in my bedroom and i have the case side off. And i think it has given me headaches. next year i'm going to University, so i can't have a super loud PC running all the time with a room mate anyway. and i want cooler temps for the OC. so in goes the WC setup, with a 120mm intake sucking through the rad, and a pair of 92mm exhausts up top, all Rheo controlled i think.

troy.

Best I've had an XP AGOIA @ 1995. Air cooled with a Swiftech MC462 +Delta EHE. On an EPOX 8KHA+

This was only good for screenies though. You know SANDRA, WCPUID etc. Benchmarks would bomb at this level though.

A stable speed I'd say is between 1870 - 1900 with that chip of course this is temp dependant, that is why the variation is there.

I'm certain I could do screenies with that chip again at over 2 Gig if I really tried.

Been thinking about water cooling lately as well. Maybe get better and higher stable clock.

Just got a new AGOIA 1700 + "Y" and are running 1920 stable Prime @ 2.10 volts and it loops 3dmark @ 1935 but not Prime :)

Not as good a mhz overclock as the old 1600 AGOIA I had but only by about 10-20mhz though so Im pretty happy still
:)

1.4 tbird @ 1.6ghz, was having stability problems.

Found the problem, had nothing to do with the cpu.

So ill be uping it some more soon, hoping to reach at least 1.65 :)

What Cooling & Vcore?

Silver
07-23-2002, 01:33 PM
AIRDA, did not catch the week when I put it in (sorry). Vcore is 1.95 using a bong cooled 226w. Unlock on the 5th bridge. Have to run 3.1v on the Mushkin in order to get stability at that speed. Found something interesting yesterday when playing around. The new 30's and 30.30's would not allow as high an oc on the processor. They ran fine if I backed the processor down a little. The 28.90 on win 98se seems to work the best and allows the highest oc. I know, sounds strange. One other thing, when I used the 30.30 and the wcpredit mods then the system would go into automatic reboot. Strange again but if I did not use it then there was no auto reboot. Also played with the 2626 epox bios. Mighty fical (sp) one it is. Too unstable and again not as good scores. Went back to 2312. The foregoing may have much to do with the os.

My first XP was a 1600+ AGOGA Y that did 1.78GHz locked before I killed it when after I unlocked it, the thermal sensor for my DigiDoc 5 slipped between the core and hsf while I was reseating it :(.
AXP 1900+ AGOGA Y @ 1.84GHz. Sad when you compare it to the 1600+.
I haven't really been able to test my new XP 2000+ AGOIA Y, but so far it'll do 1.87GHz with 1.9vcore.

@ 2845 Mhz Real clock @ 2,15 Vcore chilled by a prometeia
on an Epox 8K3A+ ( 190 X 15 )...

I am still testing on it and waiting for the Abit NF2 boards to improove my memory benchmarks.

Temps are, around 0 °C idle and 11°C Full load after a longer period of time. ( hmm, to high ? - i am not sure )
