Was playing around a heat output caculator on the web and it gave a 80W or so rating with the my X800XL parameters. Can anyone give me an recommendation on what wattage Peltier to use with my card? I have a 13.8V aux psu with about 67A of output.

I beleive they make 110watt 12V peltiers, one of those would do nicely I think.

with that much amp on the 12v rail, might as well go with a 226w tec...

I'd say 156W+, 226W sounds good. X800s don't exactly run cool you know. ;)

Pick up a 172W/24V peltier, the best 40mm peltier that you can get. A 50mm peltier will take some work to fit to a GPU waterblock, but would be possible with some modifications and hard work.

There is no reason not to get the best peltier that you can. You will simply end up with better temperatures, which is a good thing.

I would avoid an 80W/16V 40mm TEC personally, they are inferior to 172W/24V 40mm TECs in every way (except that the 172W uses more electritiy).

What's the highest wattage 40mm peltier? 50mm has better selection but I am not sure how I could manage to fit it to my Maze4-1 water block.

Actually to use a 50mm, you'd have to use a cpu TEC block and then fit it (mounting, cold plate mod for clearance, etc) to a graphic card.

A 172W/24V 40mmX40mm unit is the highest capacity 40mm peltier you can get, as far as I know :).

Wouldn't a new coldplate/mounting allow one to use a 50mm pelt with a GPU? I'm picturing an coldplate that doubles as an extension, to accomodate the narrow mounting holes on your graphics card (they are too narrow to fit a 50mm peltier).

The only 50mm peltiers that I have ever seen used on a video card, were indeed applied with a modifyed processor waterblock though :)

I would't worry too much about a 226 / 320w pelt, just get a 40X40 172w, i used to run one on my x800xt pe and it was plenty, dont forget that you wont be pumping out that much heat day to day unless you volt mod your card, plus danger den make a pelt adaptor for their maze 4 gpu block which is great, its supplied with the necessary neoprene as well.

Where did you get a 924.6W power supply?! Post pics and specs, please!

Actually its 15V at 67A. It's adjustable. I found it on Ebay awhile ago. Was a bit scratched up so I spray painted the casing black. It came with a 120mm fan inside too but it ran a bit noisy. I replaced it with a much quieter one now it's noiseless when on. I'll snap a few pictures when I am home later.
