hello,

i recently purchased 1gb of vx pc3200 memory, and am having trouble getting it stable at the advertised speed/timings.

right now, i am running it at 8-3-3-3; 2.8v, however, before this, i did try running it at 8-2-2-2 3.2v, but would get many application crashes, when i closed programs.

i also pumped 3.5v trying to reach 250mhz, but was unable no matter how loose i set the timings.

i am using the a15 bios with memtest built in, on a dfi nf3 250gb motherboard, and a CH 3400+.

would this warrant an RMA? if there are any other tests i should run, please let me know. i did run memtest @ 200mhz, 5-2-2-2, @ 3.3v which went unsuccessful after 7passes.

thanks for your time

actually, no matter how high i set the vdimm in the bios, it will always read a stable '3.14'. should i adjust my power supply?

so i don't think changing the settings in the bios are really doing anything, because i can set the vdimm in the bios to 2.5, and it will still read '3.14'.

i have it set to 2.8 right now, and ran memtest stable 24 passes @ 10-2-2-2.

go figure. any way to fix this? thanks i realize this does go a little off topic from ocz, but i want to make sure it isn't the memory before requesting an rma.

Hi chr,

Are you using a booster? or does the DFI give you up to 3.5V in the bios?
Bios with memtest built in? Is that a modded bios? or official release from DFI?
