I want to buy a 2x256 pair of Gskill LE/LA and another 2x256 pair of OCZ VX.

Could they work together daily at ddr400 and 2.5-3-3-8 with 2.7v ??

Ofcourse I'm gonna use them separately for benching ;)

I need info from people that have tried this?? :toast:

Edit: I'm going to use them with MSI K8N Neo2 mobo and a 3000+ or 3200+ :D

Probably yes, but it might be unstable.

u should wait for the better memory controllers on winchester chips.. then it might go smooth. however with the current memory controllers on the CPU's it will be hard to keep it stable.

:shakes: :cord:

so isn't there anybody who has tried??

when are these winchester's coming?

It should do it..... But the problem, is they dont use as much voltages.... For doing 260MHz, VX needs 3.6V, but TCCD will probably blow at that voltage..... but for DDR400 I'm almost sure they will work....

I know that :D As I said I just need them to work at ddr400 rock stable with 2.7v (cause TCCD might get unstable with 2.8 or over ;) )

First of all, as far as I know, there's no 2x256MB set of OCZ VX. OCZ sells them only in 2x512 kits or just 512MB modules by itself.

Second of all, I was bored one day and tried to boot 512MB VX (first channel) + 2x256MB BH-5 (second channel) and it didn't boot @ DR400 at all...

So, I don't think that you would have luck with 2x256MB GSkill + 512MB VX.

EDIT: And if you have Neo2 then it is definetely NOT POSSIBLE as filling up all DIMM slots defaults to DDR333 (it's in the manual if you wanted to make sure). And I believe it's actually on-die memory controller's fault rather than chipset/mobo.

2.7 volts isnt going to cut it with the vx anyway is it? the tccd will do 2-2-2? at that voltage, but the vx isnt rated for that speed at 2.7 is it?

nope, 2-3-3-8 at 2.6v is what the VX is rated at

thanx for all the answers. we tried it with a friend and it worked :banana4:

with default spd they work 2-3-3-6 2T ddr400

the memories we used were:

2x256mb mushkin bl2 bh-5

2x512mb adata-vitesta ddr566 tccd

ddr400 2-3-3-6 2T is not exactly "working out good"

why do you think so?

I wanted them just to work together, I dont need them to work 1T or 2-2-2-5 daily.

So I think they are working out good :toast:

All of that ram should be able to do 2-2-2-5 1T, but if all you need them to do is be compatible, I guess you got what you wanted. Not exactly xtreme, but it works.
