Hi!
Here my Qs:

1) According to PDPs manual at 533MHZ I should use from 2.85-2.95v. Since I am hitting 280 and even 310MHZ and more. Should I try to use even more Voltage or 2.95 should be enough?
2) What is the Dram drive strenght option for and should I use it (currently at 1) to help stabilize my RAM at 300MHZ and over?

3) Why is it that using A64 tweaker my Ram is running at 2.5-3-3-7 @280 but if I change my CAS from 2.5 to 3 my computer freezes? I am relaxing my timming so it should be easier to manage not harder. Besides my RAM actually comes rated a 3-4-4-8 at anything over 266 (533MHZ). Thats odd...

Regards

The XBL doesn't like to change timings on-the-fly. You should be able to change the Tcl timing through the BIOS though, correct?

What does on-the-fly mean?

On the fly means changing it from windows using A64 tweaker for example. It seems TCCD must be changed using the Bios only.

Should have snapped up some of this XBL while it was cheap, 136 quid for a gig of TCCD was a GREAT price :( Pitty its over 160 now

I needed 3.1v on dfi ut250 to get it to 315mhz 2.5-4-3-6 but if you can hit that with 2.95 id say thats enough.

I had to change Dram drive strength to 2 to get memtest #5 stable over 240mhz HTT so id say change it and see if it gets any more stable.

I can run memtest at 280 at 2.7v very easily. Its prime95 the one that always gives me an error in 5 or 6 hours.

Hehe, I was one of the lucky ones who got it at that price. Apparently Tekheads supplier got their prices mixed up and they passed the saving on to the punters. Best memory I've ever purchased. :)

2.9V should be enough for TCCD, sure you can try more if you can but it is very likely it won't help.

shaolin95:
maybe you are overclocking cpu, that is why you get prime error.

I thought the same but man it will be real lame if my 3400 that comes stock at 2.4 cant even reach a stable 2.5! Heck, I am RMAing anyway cause its a week 16 and it runs hot like crazy.

i love my patriot stuff, @ 275 2.5-4-4-10 right now, seems stable enough, @ 2.7 volts. thats 150 Mhz over rated speeds, for 220 dollars.

Well, it was my piece of crap ready to be RMAed CPU! :-) My memory is good enough for 300 FSB plus but it seems my CPU's mem controller wont go much higher than FSB as I was trying to get 313x8.

I hit a wall @ 265MHz on my DFI Lanparty.

Swapped it out with an Abit NF8-V, now I hit a wall @ 275MHz 1:1 2.5-3-3-9 @ 2.60V.

My XBL doesn't seem to like voltage that much. 3.1V has done nothing for my overclock :(
