is this oc helping mem perf, adn therefore general perf?

having 1T instead of 2T makes no difference in games, at least not for me.

stock of 204 mhz, 2-3-3-10-1T (used everest for these tests):

latency 50.0 ns
read 3149 MB/s
write 1183 MB/s

oc to 225 mhz, 2.5-3-3-10-2T

latency 55.2 ns
read 3416 MB/s
write 1271 MB/s

is it better to have lower lat or higher read/write? i know cpu performs better with that boost of 225 mhz.

my system specs are in my profile

don't shout it out all at once, now

:D Cool down man - You got the answer in Ya first post, 225 1T is better...

Sure You can go for higher HTT with 2T but try to get the highest with 1T and best possible timings.

the 225 is with 2T. i can't oc at all with 1T, and those are the best timings i can reach with such speeds.

but is latency or read/write speed more important?

how about you testing it out?

make hl2 stress test or something.. with both setups, then u will eventually find out which one is better. i think we cannot tell u.

anyways, I would go for 2-3-3 1T just by instinct

2T drops about 25MHz from your performance. I would stick with the 204MHz just because it will use less power.

If you have a CPU with a low multi and need to have a high FSB, increase the memory devidor. If the memory is at the same speed the ratio has no effect on performance, only a bug with the NF2 platform caused large performance drop offs.

so should i try 240x9, with ram set to ddr333, bringing it up to stock 200 mhz 2-3-3-10-1T?

That would give you a equivalent results yes - Can you by any chance reduce the ras-cas to 2?

Btw next time try show a tad more patience - In the end it´ll pay up :)

sorry bout lack of patience, was sick yestersay. please excuse me.

which is ras to cas? if it's the second one, then no, i've never been able to get that to 2 under any condition. refuses to post and i have to reset bios with jumper. the third number i can get down to 2 (probably because spd is 2-3-3-6 and i have it at 2-3-3-10 ;) ), but i didn't see any improvements to perf (though i'll continue testing that). i'm not quite sure of its effect on stability.

what exactly do you mean by "That would give you a equivalent results"? equivalent to what, stock or other given oc?

thx, guys

alright, i ran prime95 with that 225x10 oc i already mentioned. ran perfectly stably, cpu temps maxing at 54, for 5.5 hours, after which i stopped it myself. i'll try to bring voltages down/speeds up. any extra suggestions?
