Just popped it into an Epox 8K3A+ for a little testing using an Alpha PAL8045 and a Sunon 39cfm fan.

On my first sitting it's already up to 2005MHz at 1.7v with a temperature that's topping out at 53C on-die running Prime95. Not too shabby for 1.7v.

I'm going to try and top it out on air and then I'll move it over to my ducted air-TEC to see what it can do there.

So far it's looking at least a little bit better than the budget 1700+ Tbreds and this may even be a 2200MHz chip... for $75 mind you. ;)

until dtek contacts me w/ a replacement heater core i will be using a ax7 w/ 50cfm fan so i hope to get 2ghz! i just lapped the ax7 today also so i am all good to go:banana:

Ordered it last Thursday from NewEgg and I think it is a week 42... I'll make sure to look when I transfer it over to my other rig either tonight or tomorrow.

Now I just wish I would have waited a bit longer to order these to upgrade my farm instead of the XP1700 Tbreds... Oh well, it's only 50-100MHz difference but it would have just been cool to say I had 4 or 5 crunchers at or over 2GHz. ;)

Wow 2,1GHz on air is great. Excellent news!. :toast: Can only hope my 1800+ will do that too ;)

Thanks for the info Jeff. I was going to order the XP2400 but saw your post and went for the XP1800 TB.

Still waiting for my dtek setup to show but ordered the SK-800 to test against my swifty. I should hit 2ghz with the right stepping of course.

jeff on your sig do you think you can take off that moving effect where you show all of your seti farm?

it is makin me sick lol

Damn', and I had 2 of those 1800+ Tbreds in my hands today. Were week 41, if I remember correctly.
They're 85€ a piece.

will keep you posted on how high i get i am runnin stock speeds w/ 1.7v right now just to get the AS settled in a little bit before i start overclockin. will have first attempt results tomorrow.

i am gonna see how high i can get w/ 1.7v and then slowly up the voltage.

What SETI farm? ;) I've moved all my rigs over to Folding for a little SETI-vacation. :D

Ok well here are initial results after a few hours of testin at 1.7v only (right when i got the cpu i just set it to 1.7v and havnt changed it).

11x166mhz appears to be rock stable... thats 1830mhz for ppl who suck at math

tomorrow durin school i will leave the computer runnin prime at 11.5x166 and hope for it to work.

i have high hopes for this chip!

Got mine's at 1804MHz (180fsb) @1.525V on a A7N8X running Prime95 torture test. I think I'll let it burn in at this speed while I sleep.

Emericana, did you get yours from newegg.com? How is the chip running now?

Emericana

Well here is the deal guys.

On 1.7v it will do up to 11.5x166=1913mhz however, i am sure it will do higher this is the only one i have tried so far.

at 12x166, with 1.7v the system reboots itself after 30 mins. however w/ 1.75v, which i am running now, it prime so far has been running stable for 3 hours.

I got it from newegg.com yes

the chip KICKS ASS. it will probably end up being either a 2600+ or 2700+ CPU for only $69. Cant beat that price/performance ratio!:rocker: :rocker:

and remember, this is only with medium air coolin (ax7 and 50cfm). Dtek sent in my replacement heatercore today and i will start leaktestin my water cooling tomorrow.

with 1.95v and water i would not be surprised if i get 2.3ghz

Is there a way to change the chips default voltage? I got an 1800+ AIUGA and would like to pop it in my 8k3a+ real quick and see what 2.2v and water will make it do. If I can do this with a bridge mod or something it would be easier than a volt mod on the board.

Try closing all the L11 bridges...should give 1.85v default!!

ok guys with 1.8v the highest i could do w/ this chip is 2020mhz with 12x168 (now i am sure i could get maybe 10mhz higher by usin a diff mult but i dont have time to play around w/ it). at 12x169 the computer reboots during prime95.

now i am positive this will do 2150mhz w/ 1.95v but i do not have the cooling to handle it right now. my temp w/ the ax7 and 50cfm sunon fan is 50C load so that is as high as i am willing to go with this cooling. my water cooling setup should be done on tuesday. however, on wednesday i am going on a 5 day vacation so i wont be able to play with it until a week from this coming tuesday :(

will revive this thread then and tell the results with water (TC4, Dtek Cooler Core, Via Aqua)

Seems my chip hits a brick wall around 2.1GHz. I moved it over to my ducted air-TEC system and even 10-15C doesn't help it.

Oh well... 2.1GHz is still pretty darn impressive for the $$$.

what vcore you doin 2.1ghz at?

1.90V. If I go up to 1.95v, it doesn't seem to help and anything over 2.0v will make the computer reset before Windows even loads.

The funny thing is the chip will run at 2020MHz@1.75v. I really think these cores just top out at 2100-2200MHz.

All I do is paint across the bottom L11 pads. This bridge just needs to go to ground and doesn't need to be matched up with the pads across the laser cut.

On a 1700 and 1800 Tbred:

ya jeff i can do 2ghz w/ 1.725v only. it takes me 1.8v just to do 2015mhz.
i wish it was a tbred b core lol.

i am guessin i will be able to get 2080mhz once i have water up maybe 2100 if i am lucky.

do most 1800+'s need liquid cooling to achieve 2,000 MHZ?

My 1600+ does a perfectly stable 1835MHZ @ 333 FSB
Will my new 1800+ (supposed to be re-delivered today) do more than my 1600+ agoia 02/13-Y?

Emericana

1800+ pallys will do 2ghz with H20 but with around 2.1v

1800+ tbred will do 2ghz w/ silent aircooling with 1.75v
