Going to be building a new rig within a couple of months.

Vapochill LS
DFI NF4 Ultra
FX-55(Or A64 3000 s939 90nm until I can get ahold of an fx-55)
2x512mb ram
2x SATA HDD
x800xt/x850xt or x800xl(and wait for r520)
PSU OCZ Powerstream 600 or Zippy 700

So, I'm really for the G.skill, but I'm reading alot of good things about the OCZ Vx.

I don't want to do any vmods if I can avoid it(Never done any, and don't really want to go into it yet).

Would like something that can handle at least 300fsb 1:1.

I'm undecided on which ram to go with, as they both seem like outstanding choices, just not sure which one is better for me.

If you don't want to voltmod and you want 300MHz, TCCD is the only way to go.
Gskill is a good choice but LE is not DDR600 rated, with a bit of luck it will do it though.

Yea, reason why I say LE instead of LA is 1t on the LE at higher speeds in 2x512 vs LA.

LE is the only way to go if you want to try to hit 300 1:1 in 2x512. LA probably won't do it, VX definitely won't do it. You're gonna need some good LE sticks to hit 300 though.

Thanks guys, I figure 300 will be max if I can move to the Fx-55, probably around 280-290 or so. But 300 or so on the 3000, while I wait to save/find a good price for fx 55 or perhaps 57 if it takes me that long to save lol.

It's the DFI NF4 board, if I remember correctly you have 4.0V Vdimm stock. There is just no way WinBond UTT does 300mhz, if you get a good set of TCCD you can get that. Just for the record: if it's for 3D benching the UTT will beat that TCCD! Just check OPP's last 01 :toast:

I would recommend TCCD for 3000+ due to limited cpu multi(x9). I only had a chance hitting 280HTT max with OCZ 3200 rev2 and now I'm running VX with a 3500+. 240x11 2-2-2-x or 258x10 not bad at all...just watch out the heat. With a FX-55 I'm not sure which is better since you can increase cpu multi but 300 1T with some good timings is really sexy.

I dont know how OCZ overclock's but i do know that G.Skill is verry good. I got this mem from Taiwan with the 437 weekcode.

I got this score on my AMD Athlon platform. I did not find out yet if it go's any higher

Btw i dont know if it runs on 1T because my motherboard (asus A8N SLI DEL.) has some problems with high memory speeds on 1T, so this is on 2T

@ hardcorenl

is this the gskill LE or LA?

i have a big problem, because the dfi nf4 sli-d is available today, but my dealer has only the gskill LA.
so, i don´t know what to do
wait for the LE or get the LA and the board today

I dont know the difference.

What do you mean with LE and LA ?

man if they are LA then you're a real lucky bastard :P I guess they are LE. Just check the RAM package/sticker. Anyway please let us know

1GBLE on the sticker :)

So i geuss its the LE, whats the difference?

Btw its PC3200 :toast:

you're probably not going to like my advice, but i'd get both. i have both vx and tccd. the reason is that it gives you more flexibilty when deciding on your final overclock. you won't know what your cpu max is and having 2 sets of different ram will give the flexibilty to achieve the best possible cpu/memory max. this is especially true with the fx and it's unlocked upward multi. with the dfi board, no volt mod is necessary and while the dfi goes up to 4v vdimm, vx rarely needs more than 3.4-6 to get best results. in my experience, vx at 2-2-2 is roughly the same as tccd at 2.5-3-3 that is clocked 30mhz higher.

HardcoreNL: What BIOS are you using for that? Also, what VDIMM?

Is it stable at all? I have noticed my A8N-SLI dislike HTT over 315mhz even when CPU and Mem are low...

Edit: NM I see that you are at 2.85 ( but have you taken a reading from your MOSFET to determine true voltage? If I set my BIOS to 2.85 I will get around 2.9x)

Hmm yeah its pretty stable for a couple of hours. I noticed that it would give a bleu screen after a while so i changed 3 to 4 (3=4) now its stable 24/7. I didnt check the mofset. It should run @ 2.85V, if it doesnt who cares its stable :P :banana4: i would not be using this system for 10 years :p:

/edit

I use bios 1003-Final. In that screenshot i used as i remeber 1002 or 1003-004

I can't set Performance Acceleration Technolgy (PAT) to Turbo on my P4C800-E Deluxe with my 2 x 512 LE's. PAT really speeds things up in my rig, but the LE's just can't seem to handle it.

Anybody else experience this???

PAT used to give a 1 or 2% gain. That's not much why dont you just raise the FSB.

So you are running 2.5-4-4-8 now?

BTW why are your using 8 ? I have noticed a slight gain of bandwidth with 9

My TCCD seems to run stable at 315mhz 3-4-3-9 2.9v 2t(really it is 3.07v or so)
But I can take screenies of 328mhz 2t

Have you tried the 1004.001 BIOS?

I just flashed to the latest BIOS (1014 to 1019). Problem gone...PAT works flawlessly now.
