Is this about right? It seems that 28s is too slow for fx55@2910mHz....

Seems about right to me. Mine at 2860MHz on air did 28sec. Takes me about 3000MHz to hit 27sec, and about 3120MHz to hit 26sec. This is with G.skill 2.5-3-3-6-1T, no tweaks.

sounds good to me as well. took me 3200+ to get 26sec, 3100+ to get 27sec. no patches, winxp pro sp2 without any optimizations. get that fx on vapo charlie! my 1st fx only did 2750 on air, max on vapo was 3120. current fx has only been on vapo and does 3250 superPI benchable. still working on prime stable settings.

I got 29s with 512kb cache.... and with the same clocks...

sounds about right... I hit 25s at nearly 3300mhz with no tweaks in XP.
