hi,
im having big problems with my EB as with 1gb it aint doing 265mhz stable :(
as i want to run it 1:1 with the CPU (3400NC, sig needs updating).

so im thinking of trying to sell my 1GB of EB and go for a new 1Gb kit which can do 265mhz stable.

suggestions?

i'd say Gskill pc4800 LA or 4400 LE tccd chips.

512 or 1gb?
im single channel at mo cos of S754 so would i really be able to reach 300Mhz on it?

what timings would i be looking at for 265mhz?

With the 4400LE you will be at least 2.5.3.3.7 :toast:

i would go for 1gb, thats what i did. despite the negative ramifications with 1gb, i needed larger size because of my gaming requirements. some a64 controllers can't handle memory bigger than 512mb size very well when overclocking at high speeds, and can't do 1t.
However single channel maybe be more friendlier than dual channel to the A64 on-die mem controller. i had s754 sc, and it seemed to handle lower timings better, but doesn't o/c as high as s939 dual channel controller.

all i want is 265mhz at reasonably tight timings, and then IF i get S939 the ability to up the Mhz for when i need more :P

cos my EB can prolly do 265 3-3-3-8 so im thinking it might be a waste?

1GB of LE then?

I would get it, you might not see the full benefits now but you will be ready if you upgrade.

memory reacts differently to each cpu + mobo depending on stepping and revision. so it is not garanteed that LE will do 2.5-3-3-7 @ 265 , on 2.8v with 1t enabled on your s754 system. i think since you are on single channel maybe try getting 2x 256mb tccd, and o/c it.

is your ocz EB BH-5 chip?

i dont think any EB is BH5?

doesnt TCCD like 3.3v then?
i need a gig as i play games a lot

maybe try 1gb 1x1gb stick instead of 2x512mb. maybe that could help lower timings and oc.

if there anyway i have the right to to order a set and if it doesnt get to where i need - send it back for refund?

@Korpse...

i think your pretty lucky to be able to get (2) Sticks to run together
on the LP-UT...My EB would barley do 220 with both sticks but (1)
Stick is another story.. If i recall right "Lots"of peeps cannot run
(2) sticks together and Oscar_Wu "I Think" was working to remedy
this problem...

I will see if i can find some threads for you...

looks like im either going to go with Gskill Le or OCZ Vx :p

which one is the question now :D
what timings coudl i be seeing at 265mhz on the LE?

you could just try buying a booster and upping the voltage to your current ram. That might solve your problem. Plus if you get the OCZ VX your going to need their booster. TCCD doesn't like voltage.

go the LE, 275mhz stock :)

i have a dfi lanparty so im unsure if itll work with the booster

plus my EB is at 3.4v which i think is over the warranty and a gettin to dangerous levels :p

im prolly going to try and get both and test them tho :p

any1 from uk wanting to buy any VX or LE? i have some for sale
