hey guys :)
can't decide which to buy...:( i own a a64 3200+ and msi k8n neo2 + ocz powerstream 520 and what is better for 24/7 AND gaming!?

depends on the setup u have. if you are going to have a htt of less than 260 and you dont mind the booster.. if your going over 260htt then go with the EL. the EL will give teh same performance at 275mhz as the VX will at 250 roughly. the mhz makes up for the timmings at that point. So really its a matter of what ur cpu can handle

My VX at 2-2-2-5 (1T) 250 HTT gives me a 1 second fast SuperPi time than G.Skill 4800 at 280 HTT (2.5-3-3-8)

If the core clock changed too it makes sence, but if you didnt change the core clock(using multiplier), there is something that may be wrong, because 1 sec is alot when those 2 settings are supposed to offer the same performance, or at least near the same ...(And if you want accurate comparation, always try to be the closest of the same clock)
Cinder did you use Process Timer (http://bakkap.free.fr/Softs/ProcessTimer.exe) to see your accurate super pi time? A whole second is a very large difference.

No, but I will give it a try tonight!...
I was comparing
250 x 12 = 3000 (2-2-2-5 1T)
vs
280 x 11 = 3080 (2.5-3-3-8 1T)

i think i'll go 4 the el again! but 2-2-2-5 @ 260 would also be very nice damnit i can't decide..^^

well 260 isnt garunted with vx. that is why i said 250. alot of ppl are getting 260 but not everyone. just remeber that. if your going to keep the winnie under or at 2.6ghz the vx might be a good idea. me i have higher hopes for my winnie (it did 2.8) so the el was the logical choice for me.
