I met with Abit, Gigabyte, and MSI today. Harry was not at the Abit suite (yeah they are stuck in a room on third floor of the venitianhotel for comdex) miles away from the convention center.

Lots of new cool stuff, I will get pics tomorrow as I did not carry a camera today.

Its late and I am trashed, long day tomorrow.

Tweaked!

Hehe...I took a cam to the DC AMD event...snapped some pics. Wanted to get some better pics @ the Philly show so I grabbed my cam again....went to snap my first shot and my cam wouldn't work. Only then did I realize I'd left my compact flash card in the card reader @ home...so no Philly event pics, lol. :)

56k WARNING, all pictures are at 1600x1200 resolution and are almost a meg each in .jpg format.

The crowds (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/crowd1.jpg) were decent (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/crowd2.jpg) this year.

I mostly took pictures of Heatsinks (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/sinks.jpg) and H20 rigs (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/aoc2.jpg) of all sorts (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/aoc2.jpg). AOC had this mini H20 (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/aoc3.jpg) rig on display.

I found this H20 (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/aqua3.jpg) rig nicely lit up on display. I even took a second picture of the cute radiator (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/aqua1.jpg). Kinda curious as it had fans yet I heard nothing so I put my hand in front to fell no breeze. I asked the exhibitor "are th fans off" and he replied "no" and turned away. I looked closer and took a picture of the waterblock on the CPU (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/aqua2.jpg) and noticed it was a AT7. I was then informed that it had burnt out this morning and they were waiting on parts. Im not very impressed with Aquarious H20 rigs. notice in the res there is no water flowing in. I walked away.

I later found the same radiator (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/tt2.jpg) over at thermaltake. (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/tt3.jpg) who had a nicely LED lit HSF (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/tt1.jpg) with a clear section.

Here are more colorfull cases (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/cases.jpg) all lined up (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/cases2.jpg) with TTGI quad fan PSU's on top. I will be sure to stop by this booth before closing.

Here is a blurry clear case (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/docs.jpg) overloaded with digital docs and LED's. Damaging to eyes if I didnt pre blur it for you. Im sure you guys can understand this precaution I have taken.

Another heat pipes (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/pipes.jpg) that ran to the side of the case. nicely done.

I stopped by the Geil booth (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/geil2.jpg) and spoke with Victor, they had 2 overclocked (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/geil1.jpg) machines (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/geil3.jpg) on PC3500 and PC3700. IIRC the machine that scored 17k was @ 3.29Ghz

Around the corner was a informative robot (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/bot1.jpg) that would not shut up. none the less he was worty of a quick pic.

Something that I could definitly use, a nice Inkjet CD Printer (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/cdprinter.jpg). This one is for bulk ;)

Lots of tablets at comdex this year, I must say this one (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/tablet1.jpg) stands out vs all the others I seen. Another view (http://fugger.netfirms.com/comdex/tablet2.jpg)

More stuff uploading. Im missing a memory stick too

Sorry that I missed you over at Comdex :(
I went have a meeting with Nvidia and saw the Nvidia version of the ABIT OTES card.

I did get to meet with Harry at the Abit suite in the Venetian...they were quite busy and I was glad that Harry took the time to talk with me...email me...explain the new product line & give me appropos literature...and thanks for the shirt too Harry!

I felt like I was entering some top secret room, since I was grilled downstairs by the Venetian guard trying to get to 3rd floor suites, then grilled outside the Abit suite by another guy, who asked if I had an appointment (I did, mentioned Harry's name and had his email with me). When I got in they were busy and answered my questions. I specifically brought up the cold boot problem using Athlon chips/VIA chipsets and was told they had never heard of this happening before (even had an engineer talk to me briefly). That seemed weird they knew nothing about that problem to me.

I also discussed with Harry the similarities with the new Nvidia NV30 (Geforce FX) and the OTES and he said that Nvidia designed this for Nvidia's card (Had wondered since seeing the card at the Nvidia Press Conference/Product Release)

Just glad to see Harry active on the board here, and on the Abit boards they set up as well, nice guy for sure.

Here are some pics of what I brought back from Comdex:

I'd like seeing the saber. The outside thermal exhaust shirt came via Abit & Harry.

Its really small, looks cool.

Alternating red, blue and green produces a nice effect.

That does look cool...almost like they used cathodes in it somehow (I missed that on the floor of Comdex).
