I'm trying to upgrade the bios on the board from an emachine 2888, replacing it with Intel's bios for that board, but Emachine programmed an OEM bios with a unique id string, and it won't let me reprogram it. Is it possible to modify the new bios to be compatible with the origional, yet still enable the advanced chipset config that my system sypports, but emachine disabled in the bios? I have intel's bios config editor, but it is only letting me create custom cmos defaults for the new bios, and won't let me extract the old bios or make mods to it.
