View Full Version : PC system states no Opertating System

I just finshed building a PIII Tulatin 1.13Ghz
complete PC for my little bro. Everything was fine untill after I installed the Maxtor Drivers, and rebooted.
I now am Receiving : HDD does not contain an operating system
I cannot even get the PC into DOS to perform FDISK and Partition
the HDD, to install an OS :confused:

All help would be greatly appreciated, my little bro has been waiting for this PC since Nov 4th!!!

here's the specs:

PIII Tulatin 1.13Ghz
ASUS TUSL2-C board
512MB PC133 SDRAM
Hercules Radeon 7500 All-in-wonder
Hercules Fortissimo Gamesurround III 7.1
3COM 10/100 Ethernet
Thermaltake Volcano CPU fan
3 Asteck 80x80 Case Fans

Check your jumper settings on the hdd. I believe you want cableselect. Make sure all the connectors are in good. Clear the cmos. And then see if you can get into dos. :)

Make sure the BIOS has the right boot order selected.

I've got a 60gig Maxtor here that came w/ a driver cd. I still haven't even pulled it out of the box yet, so I can't comment on the drivers.

The Maxtor 80GB Did come ,with a floppy and cd-rom with
MAX BLAST II drivers, but the problem was a bad 9x boot floppy
I created a new one on my PC and right into Windows ME setup,
thanks for all the help, I know I will be browsing this Forum, to see it I can help others, and my littlre "Bro" already had the FSB set above 146Mhz Stable... Not a bad rig for a 12 Year old!!!!
