I've recently gotten in to overclocking and am definately enjoing the great resource you all provide here at XS. While I think I have most of the basics down, I'm still very much in the dark when it comes to memory timings.

Is there a reference someone can point me to, to learn about timings, what each setting is and how it affects performance, etc? I've tried searching here and elsewhere, and can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I recently upgraded one of my machines to a Neo2 with a 3200+ running crucial ballistix pc40000 ram. I've been struggling to get it stable over 230x10, and today I changed my timings to 3-4-8-4 @ 2T, and was finally able to get to 245x10 and stay prime95 and superpi stable. Obviously, my problem has to do with my memory and/or it's timings, and I'm lacking the knowledge on how to proceed from here... Any information would be most appreciated. Please Pardon my noob stupidity... :)

Here's a guide on the DFI 250gb, but it will apply to all mobo's obviously. And If another mobo has more memory options then the DFI then... that mobo isn't released yet :)

Corsair has a pretty good presentation on the basics here (http://www.corsairmicro.com/corsair/products/tech/memory_basics/153707/index.html).
