Yep, here's a couple pics of to show off how ghetto my case is. I know there are more ghetto things out there (in fact, the thread at overclockersonline.com that I got this thread idea from has a couple ;)). But this thread is for those of you with odd/cheap/diy stuff on your comp to show it off!! I'll kick it off with my cable organization:

My IDE cables:

You may not be able to call this ghetto, but I did it all myself. I found some potos yesterday of a real "GHETTO" rig I had. LOL I'll scan them and post them here later.

Kurrurrin, you are the god of ghetto. :D

But then, you haven't seen my first case. And there's no way I'm gonna take pics of that pile.

I won't accept that title, it goes to ~Bob~ at overclockers online. He has a picture of a geforce 2 (i think) on which he rubberbanded a modded aluminum cpu heatsink. Thats right, it was being held on by 8-10 rubber bands. He deserves that crown ;) I'll just take prince or court jester or something

Sad thing is that I'm going down to the hardware store tonight for one more. ;)

The desktop is felt with a .5 inch thick padding under it. Extreme comfort and style. Hard rock hotel gaming felts, dual optic mouse, and THX speakers

My chiller in the first dayin operation. I since tucked the power and rotated it CW 90 degrees to the water lines go behind the desk.

I'm a freak about noise control. Keep that in mind. :D

http://www.sonic.net/~themime/images/blarkosity/pump.jpg

My pump and HD. I drilled four holes in the top of my case and used left over edge molding to suspend the pump upside down. I didn't use hose clamps on the pump since the ID of the tubing is a bit smaller than the fittings on the pump. There's no way it's coming off without being yanked. I mounted the HD in a drive scilencer from plycon.com and used spare slot covers to secure it to the side of my case.

My reservoir. After making three reservoir's out of plexiglass that all leaked I said "fsck it" and drilled two holes in the lid of a small tupperware container. :D

It's not exactly a single case, but it's pretty much getto.

I've never done any Folding just Genome and a little Distributed Folding. I may give it a try later on. A lot of my machines, mainly P-Pros, are too slow for Folding though.

Maybe it ain't exactly in the same league as the rest of these, but I think I can safely use the word "ghetto" in describing my latest mod to Bubbles (http://www.elitebastards.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=568). :)

I think all my machines qualify as ghetto, and in fact the only reason I am even posting pictures is because "ghetto" is in the name of the thread :)

nevertheless, it's 10ghz. my watercooled radeon 9700 pro is out of commission for a little while (fried the 172w tec I was using on it) and my lian-li pc-76 is under construction :D

edit: I forgot to mention the most ghetto thing of all. I don't have mobo standoffs that fit in the vapochill. So I put down some neoprene rubber underneath the mobo and the mobo is just sitting there. The agp/pci cards are holding the mobo in :)

no way, none of that is ghetto compared to KS9's ghetto cardboard box case from the overclockersforums. good luck on finding it, i forgot where it was, but it was ultra king of ghetto, duct tape to hold fans in and sh1t.
