Low Timings 2-2-2-X:
Winbond UTT (270-275 Mhz 1T @ ~3,4V) > TCCD (235-240 Mhz 1T @ ~2,85V)
Medium Timings 2,5-3-3-X:

High Timings 3-4-4-X:
TCCD (+300 Mhz 1T/2T @ ~2,85V) > Winbond UTT (280-285 Mhz ~1T/2T @ 3,4V)
Consumption (max = at which voltage they give their max):

I think your exaggerating a bit on the max clocks for winbound UTT. I'd say normal for 3.4v is around 250-260.

Make your research about deals utilizing the tools like IGA specials (https://www.catalogueau.com/iga/).

Otherwise very nice and informative post.

I have seen a 280 Mhz CAS 2 @ 3.5v, so I think it is quite realistic, anyway if I receive more inputs I will lower the clock.

Here are two additions to your list of probable UTT...both these 512MB sticks have hit 255 on a 3.2 P4 with 3.6v (by Diablo23rd at OC Forums). The first is OCZ PC2700 Value Series, the other is KVR PC3200. The OCZ has the M.tec labeled chips, the KVR is Kingston relabeled.

XMS-PC4400C25 (2.5-4-4-8-1T) --chip--> Samsung TCCD

Brainpower PCB - BP MLL E186014

Its identical to the set reviewed at Anandtech except it has black headspreaders...

Doing 270 2.5-3-3-10 with my a8v but im sure it undervolts aswell at 2.7v

Tested upto 295 so far stable but this board has issues with 1T above 260 so ill wait for the DFI before extensive testing :)

U from Hong Kong??? RamBo is a brand of ram from Hong Kong. They seem to use their own pcb, but ppl's opinion of them are rather polarised - some swear by them & some swear at them.
I had 2 sticks of RamBo rams, 1x256 Nanya PC2100 & 1x512 Winbond BH6, both working fine at default speeds. I haven't oced them as they're not installed on "enthusiast" mbs. They seemed to have changed the pcb on their Winbond CH5, & it doesn't work with Epox 8RDAs at DDR400. The RamBo shop in HK still have Winbond CH5s for sale, they also offer sticks with chips from Hynix, Samsung, & Infineon.

BTW:

the A-Datas which carry a SC/SS in the Part number (in the brackets behind the serial number) do have Samsung TCCDs. the ones which have HY in that code have HYNIX memory ICs.

Samsung TCCD
MDOSSBF3H4740B1G0Z
DDR500(3) 512MX16
S/N:503XR (SCBJC1916)

HYNIX

MDOHYBF3H4740K1G0Z
DDR500(3) 512MX16
S/N 452XR (HYBJC1916)

These are A-Data 600 which have TCCDs for sure.

MDOSSLF3H47...
S/N: XXXXX (SCBMC1916).

That way they can be distinguished und you know what you get.

The A-Datas with TCCDs are reported to have compatibility probs with ASUS AV8 boards by the way. Not sure if there are issues with other boards which carry the VIA K8T800 chipset as well.

Just wondering if this is worth an edit:
Ultra Platinum PC4000 (3-4-4-8-1T) --chip--> Hynix D43
I think Geil is closing this out since they only list the dual channer kit and no single sticks here. (http://www.geilusa.com/proddetail.asp?linenumber=24)
They list them as CAS 2.5 7-4-4 @ DDR500MHz PC4000. No doubt these are the same Hynix chips which they feature in their Ultra 4200 and 4400 which have to loosened up to 3-8-4-4 to run that high. I can get to just about 261 with my Adata Hynix at CAS 2.5 on my LP UT. I run it every day at 269x12 w/my Intel on my Abit IS7 w/loose timings.

BTW - Outpost has single sticks of the Ultra PC4000 on sale for $83 for a single 512mb. (http://shop2.outpost.com/product/4324885?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG) Not extreme unless you consider price/performance.

Thanks for everyone for this thread, especially PunisHHer :D

Right now I have 2x256 MB PC3200 CL3 184-Pin DIMM KVR400/256R Kingston Value Rams. My questions are:

1) Which chips are used on these memory modules? (such as TCDD, Infineon, Hynix...) --- I know it can be Hynix D43, D5, Samsung TCCC, TCC4, or anything else but how can I be sure?

2) I find that one module has "Kingston" label on the chips. Are these just re-labeled from another manufacturer like Samsung, or really manufactured by Kingston. In either case, I need some details or specifications (especially on optimal timings and voltage settings for DFI NF4 Ultra mobo)

And here some clues that I find after my research and a phone call to Kingston:

1. MODULE:
KVR400/256R 740617076530 2.6V
Assembled in USA
Part number is:
99C5192-011.A00
1626522-0721467
Chips are labeled as "Kingston" (however no finding on Kingston chips in google). On top of the chips here is what I can decipher:

"Kingston
N422024W1C
0422NO1
D3208DX1T-5U"

2. MODULE
KVR400/256R 740617076530 2.6V
Assembled in Taiwan X01
Part number is:
99R0006-001.A00
P742261-0280573
Nothing is written on chips except:
32Mx8 DDR400

One more note: Chips on this module are almost half the size of the chips in Module 1, AND this one has two circular holes in the middle of the module.

Say it curiosity or enthusiasm or kinda hobby, kinda obsession after some point... Help me...

X4W56080D-4L so they have a latency of 4 and they are on the brain power B6U808 pcb

Oh and great list too :D

Thanks for everyone for this thread, especially PunisHHer :D

Right now I have 2x256 MB PC3200 CL3 184-Pin DIMM KVR400/256R Kingston Value Rams. My questions are......

Here is the blanket answer that for sure I am not satisfied with...

Dear Onur,

We use many different DRAM manufacturers for our memory (including our own
chips which are made by us). These parts may be made with one of any number
of DRAM chips.

You should set the memory timings to auto. It is not recommended you
manually set any timings for this part number.

The differences in the modules are differences in design on the circuit
boards used. These boards will be different depending on what components
are used. But all the modules are built and tested to the same standards
and specifications.

PS: Please respond with e-mail history.

Are you sure about revision?
If they don't support 2-2-2-5 they could be CH-5 or Infineon B-5. Ask your friend to try.

1GB = 1G = 1 GigaByte (no differences)
:D
Ultra Series and Ultra Platinum are different series.
Ultra Series are old Ultra-X Series (perhaps they contains Samsung TCC5)
Ultra Platinum contains Hynix chips.
I was standing in line over at Fry's yesterday (wanted to look for a replacement for my CBBID stepping A64 - no go) and saw that Geil PC4000 512mb sticks were still on sale for $80 a pop. Curiosity got the better of me and I purchsed a pair.

I threw them in my DFI NF4 rig and put them at their advertised timings of 2.5-4-4-7. On stick tops out at 267, the other 266. Nothing on the package says anything about voiding the warranty if I took a look under the super cheap aluminum/tin? heatspreaders so I pulled one off and took a picture.

Looks like the same GL3LC32G88TG-35 memory that was reviewed
here. (http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1447)

This stuff seems a lot like my Adata Hynix that I tested on my DFI LPUT, crapping out right around the same place.

Whatever it is it seems like a good deal for someone who doesn't have the volts to give to the TwinMos SP UT, or can't plow another $50 into some TCCD. Me personally, I would rather have the Speed Premiums or some killer GSkill. So what am I doing with this stuff? Curiosity kills cats like me! Darn! I'm such a :banana::banana::banana::banana:!

Cause if anyone wants to start one, I'm sure Fugger, FCG, Stilt and some others would probably have expertise in it too. Its really hard to know right now which DDR2 is good and which isnt, and the automatic answer seems to be the 1GB of EB 4200 Plat which is creme de la creme but not everyone can afford the high price.

They are in the list. They should be Samsung TCC5 (perhaps some have TCCD too). Just try 2-2-2-5 @ 200 Mhz.

List updated with:
G.Skill
G.SKILL PC4400(DDR600 1T) (2.5-4-4-8 1T), PC3200 (2-2-2-5) 512M Kit (F1-3200DSU2-512FF/1GBFF) --chip--> Samsung TCCD (new production) ~ Brainpower PCB

Team Group
ASTAK DDR600 PC4800 (3-4-4-8) --chip--> Samsung TCCD ~ Brainpower PCB 808

the G.Skill 1GBFF is simply awesome...it's not been released to the market though said G.Skill...next month perhaps...

It isn't in fact. Go buy ram with Winbond UTT or new BH5 (new GeIL Ultra-X PC3200 (before assure they are BH5 on BP PCB and not TCCD on BP PCB) for example or OCZ VX (Value or Gold it is almost the same, they are ALL UTT on BP PCB)).

Thats PC-3200 at cas 2.5 so NO thats not TCCD.

The ram on the front page clearly states:

PQI Turbo PC-3200 at (2-2-2-5) and PQI Turbo PC-4000 at (2.5-3-3-7).

Nice try though :D

well..... the errors are still appearing.... 1 80mm fan blowing on the sticks.... help!

I've read over on the DFI forums that people are having luck "burning in" thier sticks. Basically, they set it to whatever voltage (mostly 3.1 or 3.2v) and then they let Test #7 crank on them for hours at a time. After a period of time doing that, it seems that a lot of them can get them stable w/o errors.

I may try something similar when I can order some new ram.

Hey Punisher. I just went through TwinMOS website and I found some news regarding the Speed Premium series that you might want to update your list to make it more accurate.

Speed Premium PC3200 (DDR400) are based on the Winbond CH-5 ICs, link: http://www.twinmos.com/dram/dram_p_sp_dualchannel_ddr400.htm#f.

Speed Premium PC3500 (DDR433) are based on the Winbond BH-5 ICs, link: http://www.twinmos.com/dram/dram_p_sp_dualchannel_ddr433.htm#f.

I do know some people have PC3200 BH-5 sticks which is quite weird. Anyway, this info is straight from their website so I guess most PC3200 are CH-5 and most PC3500 are BH-5.

Unfortunately I don't have any screenshots as I don't have those sticks myself but I guess that the TwinMOS should be pretty accurate if they mention it. What I can do tell you is that one of our crew members has ordered SP PC3200 and they were CH-5.

TwinMOS has just issued today a press release with the topic "TwinMOS launches Speed Premium DDR433 modules with Winbond BH-5 Dies" so I guess all PC3500 will be BH-5.

Sorry but I think this isn't true

First off all here we are speaking about 'new' UTT BH5 and 'new' UTT CH5 - the last is commonly call UTT - old ones aren't produced anymore.
UTT means UnTesTed - by winbond. CH5 is revC of the die and BH5 is revB, 'new' die seams to have been writen in a thinner technology.

Secondly, contrary to what is writen in the base not all SpeedPremium with UTT have BP PCB. I guess it is the case as well for Twinmos SP with new UTT but I do not have any proof of this.
