If you can, it would be greatly appreciated :) It's really hard to choose :(

Next month I'm purchasing an FX55, and I'm in a bit of a dilemma...it's called VX or Gskill....read a lot of threads...but still questions. ;)

I hope this looks a bit right....

OCZ EL PC3200 Gold VX FSB ~260 2-2-2-10 @ 3.4Vdimm

or

GSkill PC4400 LE FSB ~280+ 2.5-3-3-7 2.75v

I really like the tight timings of the VX and the 3.5Vdimm that OCZ allows you to pump through. But then again the promise of 300Mhz(?) on the Gskill also sounds really good

Also with the unlocked multi it the ~260Mhz isn't really a problem....

So any suggestions?

(I'm kinda new to Xtremesystems, regular EOCF member though)

Thanks alot :toast:

The Gskill will allow you to hit High HTT without having to plug in a warranty voiding device, but it depends how hard you want to push. 270 @ 2-2-2-x with the VX is probably going to be a little bit more responsive than th Gskill @ 300 @ 2.5-3-3-7 (if you are lucky - 3-4-4-8 if you arent). But the Gskill will be able to do that speed with the voltage options in your bios.

Not positive but I thought that only if you got a lucky set of VX memory that you would be able to push 270FSB, especially with 2-2-2 timings.

Why don't you consider some OCZ PC4200EL Platinum memory? They have been known to reach 300+FSB on AMD systems and might be a KILLER combo with your FX-55.

Yep your right PC4200EL Platinum 2.5-3-3-8 up to 275-285FSB maybe more on AMD's
I think you would be happier with these than the VX's.
