I've been playing couple of days with Athlon 64 FX-55, Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe and 2 x XFX GeForce 6800 GT PCIe in SLI configuration.

So far with aircooling I've managed to score 10329 in 3DMark05.

I was wondering if anyone here has ideas how to flash GeForce 6800 Ultra PCIe BIOS (here (http://www.mvktech.net/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=26&func=fileinfo&parent=folder&filecatid=447)) to these XFX GeForce 6800 GTs?

nvFlash 5.08 reports ERROR: Board ID mismatch and the earlier version (4.41 or 4.42) can't find any NVIDIA graphics cards from the system. I think older versions don't support PCIe cards.

use NVflash 4.42

use the command...

Nvflash -b backup.rom

first.

then use the command

nvflash -p -u -f Insert ROM NAME.rom

if you need to force a flash, use the command...

nvflash -p -u -2 Insert ROM NAME.rom

if you need a die hard, total force of the flash, use the command...

Nvflash -e

then DO NOT REBOOT but then enter the command...

nvflash -p -u -f Insert ROM NAME.rom

this will flash any Nvidia based card, with any bios you want.
either of the forcing methods will work, one is alittle more extreme then the other.

if you screw up, have a PCI videocard to use as back up.
then use the command...

Nvflash -p -u -f backup.rom

this will flash you back to your original bios.
do not format your floppy or you will lose your original bios.
keep your original bios handy incase you screw up.
I like to email the bios to myself to keep it where I can't lose it, and where I can redownload the exact the bios I need.

lastly, don't blame anyone if you screw up, it's your choice to flash the card, no one made you do it. so if you screw up and can't fix it, its your problem.

goodluck.

Thanks Kunaak but I think you didn't read my first post.

With nvFlash 4.42 (or 4.41) the program says when I try to flash:

ERROR: No NVIDIA display adapters found !

Any ideas?

it's not gathering information about the videocard, cause it's looking for a AGP card... but theres no AGP card present.

Yeps...
Make sure you first of all Backup your BIOS!!!
NVIDIA GeForce BIOS Backup Guide (http://www.mvktech.net/content/view/14/37)
And supply it to me (mavke@mvktech.net (mailto:mavke@mvktech.net)), cause then we can use it to improve our NVIDIA BIOS Tuner Tool (NiBiTor).

You first should use nvFlash v5.xx.
Best is to for the latest version.
nvFlash v5.12 (http://www.mvktech.net/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=26&func=fileinfo&parent=folder&filecatid=701)

Then you should use the command...
"nvflash -5 -6 newbios.rom"
Or when you get some Mismatch try...
"nvflash -4 -5 -6 newbios.rom"
The "-4" is a hidden feature to force a Flash.
