just taking a swing here, did you enable RAID in the bios on both SATA ports?

I have same problem. :( I've just got around to putting in my raptors and it gets to the "loading windows" point in the install and then sits there. I just left it and after about 15 mins, it said it could not find any hdds.

I got a guide off of the MSI forums.

Going to try it out now.

ok.. here is my experience with neo2 "raid 0 problem:

I burned 4 msi boards and 6 WD 740GD with silverstone and seasonic "400w"
after I got OCZ PS 520w and PC Power and cooling 510 DX(black)...everything was perfect even I have SLI(2x 6800 ultra).. Now my system got 4 HDs, 3 cd-rom , sounds strong enough?

another thought:

as you stated earlier, sounds like the driver problem.
when I first touched with NF4 chipset(ultra adn SLI) I have same problem just like you(windows is starting setup...then it just automatically reboot)
then I use different raid driver, the problem was gone.
What I would like to tell you is "don't use non-official NV raid driver like remix 6.3!
Always use the driver from 5.10

nForce_5.10_WinXP2K_WHQL_international\IDE\WinXP

drag all the files except the "raid tools" folder.

Any update please let me know.

Skimming through your post i don't see which OS you are planning on installing...
If it's Win2000 as Tirlista's link http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?p=645839#post645839 adressed you'll have to slipstream 2000's SP6 onto a CD for the install for the raid driver to work.

I ran into exact same problem. Above link by Tirlista is dead so I am re-posting it should someone have the same issue. I will try to follow the instructions and hopefully have it going tonight.

i don't use the nvidia drivers at all, i use the microsoft drivers. i've found them to be faster. storagereview.com is actually the best place to get the answers to tough raid questions.

Well, come to find out I had to do a bios flash to get it to work. Ended up being one of the weirdest problems I've ever had to fix.

This problem usually comes up with the Nforce Raid because you didnot set your hdd's to boot in the bios of the raid. If you dont do that windows will see 2 drives...

Just a heads up with this - I got my setup working fairly easily after all.

When you are installing windows - hit F6 to load the sata drivers - ensure you load both the mass storage driver and the 3112 sata driver. If you have the drives configured correctly in bios and raid bios, windows installer will see the single raided drive.

Has worked fine for me on a few msi neo2 boards now and with my DFI sli-dr.

NEO 2 does not use Silicon Image Raid my friend so installing the 3112 Driver didnot do anything for you...
