Maximum Connections on win2k pro

Any idea if i can have more than 10 connects on my win2kpro? I dont want to upgrade to win2000 server. Any tweak? Registry setting perhaps? Networking tool that may work?

And why the hell would you need more than 10 connections?! You will never use more than 5 imo unless you have loads of networks plugged in or a few internet connections.

Its 10 CONCURRENT connections I thought ? What are you using it as an FTP server or something ?

the others are right, 10 concurrent connections. M$ did this to prevent people from using W2KPro as a server. I thought I saw something like a hack for it that was related to the torrent network. I thought it would patch a file and registry setting so that you could have up to 50 concurrent connections.

It's been awhile since I saw it though...if I find the file I can post it for you to try ...but it's prolly on my other pc that isn't hooked up yet (I moved and it's in a box somewhere). You may just wanna google it. I found it relating to BitComet.

if your runnig a small network dont u think you should just have maybe 2 or 3 connections, are you using routers???
