Low 3Dmark score?

Hey!

I have installed my ATI Radeon 9600 PRO 128MB DDR, after my GF4TI4200 got f*cked. I have overclocked it to (Core/Ram) 450/350 (700) Standard: 400/200 (400). But in 3DMark2001SE, i only get about 7200 points, and i 03 i get about 2150. How come these low scores? I have uninstalled the nVidia drivers from the Add/Remove panel.

I'm using a Omega Driver, 4.11.

Sys specs:

AMD Tbred 2600+@2075 mhz (Standard).
2x512mb PC2700 ram.
Maxtor Diamond+ 9 Fluid 80gb.
GeXCube ATI Radeon 9600 PRO 128MB DDR
Creative SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 Digital.

Hi im not going to assume youve not done anything else to your machine but you could try the following:-

1 ensure nothing else is running in the background e.g unnecessary services etc. have a look at this

2. when running 3dmark01 set the monitor refresh rate to 60hz and turn of the displays between tests in the the 3dmark options

3. defrag your hard drive or ideally do the following

a. format and reinstall windows
b. install your preferred drivers
c. overclock
d. remove everything thats not needed including services
e. defrag
f. reboot
g. run taskmanager and remove anything else thats not needed.
h. run 3dmark
i. in task manager set priority of 3dmark to realtime
j. close explorer (you will lose the windows interface but 3dmark will still be there)
k. benchmark.

4. Apparently it helps if your running on a cold machine but ive never seen
this make any difference.

5. lastly although i assume your already doing this, make sure you set all your
graphics configurations to high performance and turn off AGP fast write in
the bios.

btw the latest driver is not necessarily the best, ive also found that a lower gpu clock if it allows a higher cpu clock or vice versa can do wonders.

Thanks mayn. I'll try it tommorow, i haven't got the machine home right now.
