Listed as a plain XT but part number and pics indicate its a PE

no they havent changed it. The Gigabyte model number is for the XTPE and the box display is a XTPE. And reports are coming in that people who have ordered got a PE

yup but the Model Number is the PE model and the box pictures are a PE model. Anyone willing to take the risk feel free :)

this isnt that great of a buy IMO since the x850 line is due out, pushing these prices down...

Well the x800 series has not made it to the shelves in any real #'s
so unless you "know someone" good luck getting a x850.

Yeah, cause a $500 videocard(X850), and a $150 PCIe motherboard that supports it, and a $300 CPU to power the damn thing, is a way better deal than getting a $480 videocard upgrade FOR AGP :rolleyes:
you can get PCIE for 100$......hehe

it may be hard to find, but its just so pointless to me to buy a card right now because its 20$ cheaper and in a few weeks its going to be much more cheaper.

i would have done it in a haret beat at hte 489 price. i paiud 531 for mine going throuhg a freind. the warehouse was suppsoed to get themthe 17th of november. we called asus, they are waitn on chips from ati. then the ygotta make it, then the warhouse has to get it. i was number 4 on the list of backorders, wiht 80 cards due in the 17th. now there is over 100 on the list from this particular warehouse. im not even gonna have it by Xmas. :(
