View Full Version : OCZ Powerstream questions... will I have enough connectors?

First of all, here's what I have (as well as specs in sig, all OC'd) :

x800XT PE voldmodded (would like it to have it's own dedicated line, or be first in a daisy)
2 Raptors (would like 2x200GB drives later on)
4x80mm fans
4x120mm fans (all fans controlled by 3.5" fan controller)
2 Plextor drives
2 MCP600 pumps (CPU / GPU water)

Now, my questions are :

1. Will the OCZ Powerstream give me enough connectors to get all this hooked up efficiently? Will it provide stable rails? Is there another PSU that would be more ideal?

2. 520W or 600W?

3. Is this PSU loud? Will I be able to replace fans if it is loud?

I can answer question 3 myself hopefully through some reviews, but any answers to these questions would be appreciated.

Running 2 pumps I would go with the 600w model.

The fans are actually quiet to my ears. The heatsinks inside do a great job and don't require a wind machine for cooling. Quality components help as well.

That review has some nice sound test data.

The 600W model is like $100 more (Canadian), but I guess I may have to bite the bullet and go for it. I'm not one for sparing expense really. It does look reasonably silent as well.

Looks like it'll have enough connectors as well, seeing as they hooked ALL that crap up to it :) Guess I'll have to find a way to fit it into my budget. Thanks for the answers Andy ;)

The connectors and are are greatly improved. No adapter is required for 24 pin to 20 pin.

No problem with the help. Anytime, eh?
