Welcome to my little Firefox tweaking/hidden stuff/tips guide! This will eventually be a large collection of firefox secrets, tweaking methods and anything else! Feel free to add stuff to the list. I have 2 to start it!

Tweak: HTTP Pipelining
Now, this little trick works well if you have a slow connection and need to load your pages a bit faster, but it is beneficial to owners of fast connections. It improves performance by quite a bit. It loaded this site a few seconds faster for me. To enable it:

1. Enter about:config in the address bar and load it. You will notice loads of options listed before your eyes which are Firefox's internal settings.

2. You will need to find 2 options to enable the tweak, network.http.pipelining and network.http.pipelining.maxrequests. So find these. Click on network.http.pipelining and change it to yes.

3. Goto the network.http.pipelining.maxrequests and change it to either 8 or 12. I have heard of people using 8, but I use 12 fine.

Changing OS and browser info:
Now, I bet some of you have always wanted to have sites detect your browser as "*insert name here* browser extreme" or "xtremesystems.org browser". And I bet some of you think that would be stupid and tacky. But oh well, I will you how it is done anyway!

1. Open up the ol' about:config and find a block of strings named general.useragent. There you will have some settings which can alter your useragent. Although, you won't be able to do much other than change the version number, or locale.

2. To make a completely new useragent, you will need to add a new setting. Right click, make a new string and name it general.useragent.override.

3. Once it has been created, you can change it to whatever you want! Congratulations, you changed your useragent!

Ok, I've added a couple of guides. Now you can add some. I will add more as I find them out.

Are we allowed to post to this thread? If not please delete. I just wanted to say being a relatively new Firefox user....I think this thread is a great idea and I will find it very useful!

Of course you can post in this thread. Just make sure you have something to contribute to the guide, or if you want to correct or comment on something.

To avoid people searching under h for the tweaks, and not finding anything, they are under network, so
network.http.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
