Any of you guys with the discontinued OCZ PC3700EB, please post your highest RAM speed here.

Please be sure to list mobo, voltage, cpu steppings... all that jazz.

Thanks

My intention is to see how far other people have been able to push this ram in an A64 setup.

anywhere between 275mhz - 285mhz at 3.3v-3.4v

At 2.85v, you won't get too far.....3.1-3.2 seems to be the sweet spot.

If I remembered correctly, a couple has had theirs at ~270-275 at 3-2-2 or 3-2-3.

thats not too bad...
not bad at all...
i have an OCZ booster, but have yet to plug it in.
Currently, prime fails at 242 MHz HTT 1:1 (but we all know how finnicky prime is).
I guess i'll strap that booster on and see where it takes me

the winie is going to fail prime regardless! talk to andyOCZ he is conducting a test on the winchesters faulty memory controller.

Yeh that suxzors like a mofo :(

I dont feel "safe" when prime doesnt pass... That said i wont let it stop my overclocking efforts

memory tends to overclock better with the booster cause it cleaner voltage.
mobo mods tend to fluctuate alot cause most of them are pulling from the 3.3v rail

Right now running 2x512MB 3700EB at 239fsb 3-2-2-8-1T and the other settings in bios as tight as possible. Volts 3.0 and this is on DFI Lanparty. Going to test max stable speed with 3-2-2-8-1T within few days.

A8V. Max of 256mhz at 2.8v. Timings in order as of A64 tweaker (3-10-12-3-1-8-2-2-1-166mhz 7.8us) or 3-3-2-8.

Still have mine! Max with 2.9v on my A64 was 257mhz completly stable. I could push it to 260mhz but it would crash, more volts and i'm sure i'd do 270-280.

these results dont seem bad at all.
I have heard that the MSI K8N Neo2 hates the EB ram... i dont know about that... I guess I'll find out when I hook up the booster.

How are you all cooling these? My DIMMs get *extremely* hot (read: 65 Celcius +).
Do your modules get as hot as mine?! Its insane at 2.85V. I can't image what it would be like at 3.2 or so.
Hmmm... I wonder if I could watercool them....

the 256MB ones seem to be doing well.
the 512's.... not so much.
I just got my watercooling rig up today, so I will mess around with the RAM sometime tomorrow... see what these guys can do.

I have 512 3700 Buffalo with the same micron -5b C chips and can do 255HTT 2.5,2,2,5,T1 with 3.3V but I think the limit is the mobo I have. After 255HTT I have to set it to 3,4,4,10,T2 to do 260HTT so I think its the mobo is the limiting factor.

PC3500 EB @ 250 3-2-2-10-1T, 3.2v.
Rest of the timings: http://img76.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img76&image=n2ztimings.jpg
Eeach stick does 260 at the same settings induvidually, so I'm kinda limited by my mem controller. We'll see when I get the new CPU.

Well, im still useing it, but in a K7 set up.

Well im qualifying OCZ memeory on the epox 9NDA3+ so i can offer support to users.

This was with 3500EB at 3.2Vdimm 260x10 dual channel. bench is unbuffered as this is the only way to see low latency ram results as the buffered bench is more FSB dependant.

See what you think?

Is that at 2T CMD rate? Or is that just a sandra screw-up?

I'm an idiot and a newbie to sandra bandwith testing (i just stuck to memtest results previously). How do you do an unbuffered test in sandra (which boxes to unselect in the options menu)

Thanks. I am too lazy to do a search.

Here is my buffalo 3700 using the same memory chips as OCZ EB Sandra soft at 250HTT but it shows as 249HTT at 98% efficiency unbuffered.

cowpuppy,

What timings are you running them at with 3.2V?

I'm using 24/7 252MHz 3-2-2-10 1T DC 2x512MB with 3.2V & ocz booster on neo2 platinum.

I thought the EBs dont clock well with Neo2

or

They just need high vdimm?

seems like they just like high vDIMM.

Strange thhough, when i had 3700 EBs i could memtest stable for 250 passes in test #5 but when trying to find stability in winxp, well dont ask....
Even at 235Mhz 3-3-2-8/10 1T timings was NO GO!

Would selling the 2x512MB DIMMs of PC3700EB for a 1-gig kit of PC4200EL (with TCCDs) be worth it?

I dont know how much I could get for selling the EB, but the 4200EL is mucho expensive thru newegg.

Does anyone think that this would be a good idea? I have seen some great screenies at 2.8V with FSB of 275-290 MHz.

Anyone have any good experiences with the 4200EL?

Thanks for the help

2x 512MB OCZ PC3700EB single sticks non-dual channel - one stick did 260mhz and one does 285mhz

Check the 2K1 scores in sig....both were run with OCZ 3700EB. Details in project description
The Winchester fsb is more impressive ;) and far more representive than a screen shot.
