Ummm a self built overclocked machine would beat out both of those and would cost less than half as much

i beg to differ the alienware alx is clocked to the very limits of design its takes comperssor cooling to keep it at -30

Both suck, but I am going to say a G5 would beat a Alienware since the G5 is 2x 2.8GhZ 64bit PPC-based CPU's and Alienware is 1x Athlon64 or P4.

true that, you didnt build that beast, you plugged it in

not to hate but if that is truly Xtreme than anyone with $3000, a credit card, and half a brain could be considered Xtreme

Well, the new G5's can come with an optional 6800, so the graphics wouldn't hold it back much. Plus like masterofpuppets said, the macs have 2 2.8ghz 64bit CPU's, where as the alienware only come with 1 amd64/P4. I'd have to say the mac would win

i still dont know, one of my friends has an alienware and it is pretty darn fast, i dont know too many people with Macs, i do know they kick butt in multimedia tasks like video and photo editing though but on second thought, my machine kicks butt at those too and its not even that great!

The ALX has a cheezy watercooling system. It doesn't have a phase change unit inside.

I always liked comments like:

"I own one and it Rocks!"

Pros: Fastest computer I have ever used (I couldn't build one this fast if I tried and I know what I'm doing). This system has consistently given me what I consider an advantage when gaming. A real System for Real Gamers.

Cons: You get what you pay for....no Cons accept I had to save a little longer to buy this system.

Thumbs Up "Godlick PC killer"

Pros: Uber Crazy high end gear is always pricey

Cons: If you want cheap by a Dell..... Its like buying a Kia you get junk This ALX is a Ferrari :-)

If that hunk o' poo is a Ferrari, then what is a fugger triple cascade system considered?

These guys don't even realize how noob they really are.. at least admitting you know jack all about performance is respectable. :D

LOL, yeah. I just feel bad for those people... a few weeks of research and they could do it on all their own for half the cost.
