Well... Since I'm not going to be overclocking the XP1800 I think I'me going with
this (http://firingsquad.gamers.com/hardware/k7s5a/default.asp) board. Any comments on it? I've heard a lot of good reviews about it, and nothing negative. So I'm still open for suggestions I guess.

I used the K7S5A about 4 months and loved it! It was way more stable than my KT7A. I downloaded the ocworkbench bios and ran 150 (crucial pc133 case2) all day! I say go for it, the SIS 735 chipset is awesome!

Edit: great price too! :)

With the initial bios, there are absolutely no oc options! (only 100/133)

the price should be around $50-$60

Yeah, but why I said no o/c is because of the cpu I'm buying from Gooch. It's not going to be possible to overclock. But he hooked me up, so It's aight with me. Anyway, withought overclocking being an option, I thought that would make a good board. No sence in spending $150 when I can't get any good out of it.

You should be able to oc with the FSB. Only the L1's were messed up right?

Yeah, I think he said, 1.7 is where he got it. (Or somewhere around there).

Smizack, I just thought of something. I think I read somewhere, that some of the Revisions of the K7S5A did not support the XP. I'm not sure, but you might want to check. I think it was only the first 2 that were in question.

That as a long time ago, I'm sure they have updated the bios!

You've got me wondering now... Some say N/A but most say yes up to XP2000+
I know the k7s6a does. I'll have to do some more reading. Thanks for the head up.

But then, this (http://www.ecs.com.tw/support/faq/table-k7.htm) also says it's compatible.

*Edit

And the older K7VZA even supports XP. And yeah, they have at least 4 differant revisions.

Yeah I had rev 2 and it was stable as a rock! I don't think I ever had a blue screen or restart. That was with 98 too!
