Just got this abit board NF7-S rev 2.0

Only dimm socket 3 works the other seem dead i get the pee pow music when i try the others...I tried different ram..same result...Do i have dead dim sockets...? Is it common on this board...?I tried all posible combinations for the board mem sockets...Any idea's...?

Kingston value ram...2X512 DDR400 got them at the same time..the're serials were pretty closely matched...other than that nothing much i tried different ram as well.... :) I've decided to keep the board as is so i sold one stick of 512 and now running with one stick...Cant afford the 35$ it costs me to send the damn board back to rma...

Well, some of the older Kingston Value Ram, was ok but most of the newer stuff is not very good. Many report problems with in on these boards and there is usually only a slight chance they will run in a dual channel environment if they are not purchased as a dual channel kit. If you suffer from the same problem when your new board arrives, you might try just running the ram in Dim slots 1&2 which will not be in dual channel and see if it helps stability....if you find it does, then you pretty much have your answer at that point.

The ram i have is pertty good it goes to 219@2.3.4.9@2.9V it's rated at 3.3.3.11.. it's pretty old...I checked the board with other memory...same strory..and i've tried all possible combinations single and dual channel.....
