First off, Welcome to Xtreme!:)
Second, First we need to know exactly how you want this connection established. Are you trying to keep these two computers networked to share files between the two of them, or just share one internet connection? If you're just trying to share the connection, then that's relatively easy. First we'd need to know what kinda connection you have for the internet. Are you on broadband or 56k?

Yeah, I was going to suggest that, but he said he wanted to keep them networked together. I'm not sure how to manage this through a router. Sounds like the main rig needs to be setup as a server with two nic cards, one for the internet connection, and the other for the second rig.

the router would keep them networked together... like a switch or hub - but has the benefit to havemore computers online with single ip account.

I haven't been able to get my computers to see each other through my router, just share the internet connection. I was able to do it with a hub, but then the internet was too slow
