well, it's a quite intesting topic of comparison windows memtest vs memtest86+...

i was convinced that windows memtest's torture differ bad RAM adds after 1000% coverage...

btw, it's convenient enough just in windows envir for snaps...

Seeing is believing , that's simple requests of OCing works, so windows version memtest easily done without DC!

Another threads here too, which makes dicision of stabilty of human trust??

i use memtest dos based cause i can take out my loud video card put in a silent pci one and run i all night.

But then you might get different overclocking results with the PCI card in to the ones you hit with your regular card in.

and also if it crashes it might restart and try again but if windows restarts it wont open the program for you

That can be worked around by setting both your stability testing application and a clicker application to load on Windows startup, then if it does reboot, everything will fire up, then again, if my PC restarts while stability testing, I wouldn't want it to keep on going. ;)

Any more comments ??

I get some errors with HCI MemTest 3.2 and don't get any with memtest86+ 1.60 !!!

In which one should I believe ?!

HCI, dos based memtest only tests for hardware stability, windows based tests it within the windows environment for stability. So if you want 100% stability go with windows, or better yet a few consectutive runs of spi 32

I've been using "Memtest for Windows" for some time now... From my experience, it's superior to Memtest1.51/1.55/1.60. There have been numerous times when HCI's failed while DOS version would not show any errors in tests #5 and #8.
Besides, where do you run your rig nowadays? DOS or Windows...? There you go, I hope now it's clear which program is more trustworthy ;)
