I've been working on building two chillers in the past week. I finished with the first one and am now having a case built for it while I'm working on the second one.

Here is the first chiller that I built. I'm using High temp compressors right now, but I'll probably be building a system soon with a low temp.

And the Chiller that I'm working on now.

Here are a few of my results so far.

This is from a chip that I had never been able to get beyond 235FSB before.

no insulation?

I hadn't planned on using the first unit until I had the case for it built but I went ahead and tested it out on my rig. I took a couple precautions to avoid problems from condensation. Mainly length of use and paper towels :p: I went ahead and added insulation before building the second unit. I'm going to be testing it out tomorrow.

give the pipe from condeser to filter the shape "S". The filter must look down. I love your insulation!!

Could you explain a little more? "S" shape? What is the drawback from it's current position?

It's so the refrigerant flows downward through the filter by gravity. I don't know why that's important, but apparently it is.

This way only liquid will enter the captube :)

I don't see how gravity would effect anything since the line is force fed.

I've worked in refrigeration for a while now, and I've never had any problems with not getting all liquid through the cap tubing despite the filter dryer placement. I may try this on the next unit I build, and see if it makes a difference.

Looks like I'm going to be changing the compressor out with a 1/3 low temp 404A. I have to pick up a bottle of 404 anyway so hopefully they have one in stock.

Start a new thread and we will look at your chiller also...

I'm not sure about 410A, I've never used that type. Right now I'm using 414A in three of my chillers right now, but I'll be moving one over to 404A once I change one out with a low temp 1/3. They didn't have the one I needed in stock, so I'm waiting for it to come in. I'll update once I swap them out.
