celeron

Hi

Whitch celeron CPU should i use if i wan´t to overclock much? I´ve heard that celeron2 is really good for OC, but, 100 or 133mhz on the buss? How many MHz and what type of core (stepping)?

btw, whitch mainboard and sdram should i use to get maximal performance, like high fsb?

Would be great if someone know´s some guide(s) to Vmod the mainboard?

I will try OC as much as possible, but i just want a big OC in percent (%), not performance.

I bought a 2.0 celeron off intels IPD for $69 It will do 3.2ghz on air and a few extra volts, But it is no faster at most apps than a p4 @ 2400. Cept for folding, it does do that good. games, divx, forget it.

Tedinde does the celeron@3.2 fold as fast as a P4@3.2. If not, slower by how much?

I have a p202 on my p4 rig i just backed it down to 3.2ghz, and a p203 on my cely rig.

There times are about the same mid 7's. Celerons about 10 seconds slower, but these arent the same work units.

I'll check more tomorrow, just switching chips in the same rig on the same work unit. I'ts after 1am here, and i gotta get up for work tomorrow.

New to folding, seti's out. But i shall be moving up the charts quick. 5 rigs going now. 12k + mhz.

I think you just saved me a bundle of money. If I substitute the P4s I am running(3x2.8,9x2.53,1x2.26,and 1x1.6) with celeron 2.0s, I'll save enough to build me a few more folding rigs.:D

I'll test it on the same work unit, still when i get home from work today. If you wanna wait to be sure before you blow the money. My testing was on two seperate as i said.
