View Full Version : K8N Neo2 - How do you get the hidden BIOS options?

Well, I know from the Neo2 sticky that you're supposed to press Shift+F2, Alt+F3 while in the BIOS, but after that opinion seems to vary on where and how this key combo needs to be pressed...

Can anyone outline this, step by step, to get this to work for muppets like me who can't? :D

What's in the hidden options anyhow, anything interesting?

Hm think you should have the (dont know what you call it) keymarker at Cell Menu then press the combo. Hope you understand me.

Thanks! Putting the highlight on Core Cell did indeed do the job! And, now I get the comment from the sticky... when you press the key combo correctly, the highlight moves back to the top left most BIOS option.

Of course it always helps to press Shift+F2. Not Ctrl+F2 :dammit:

So steps are:

1. Go into BIOS (duh)
2. Move cursor / highlight to 'Core Cell' BIOS menu option.
3. Hold Shift+F2, and Alt+F3 all at the same time.
4. Cursor should move back to top left most BIOS menu option.
5. Enter core cell menu item

The hidden bios options are:

NV/ATI Speed Up
DRAM drive 'strenght' (Normal(default)/weak)
PCI clock auto detect

Are any of these of use - or are they hidden for a reason? :D

Well DRAM drive strenght weak sounds to be very BAD :D
I should might try and see what the diffrents are?
Well glad I could help you out.

DRAM drive strength should be set to "Normal" for high RAM loads or high speed RAM--too bad it doesn't have a "Strong" setting.

I'm not sure exactly what it does either, but it might be good for those with TCCD that doesn't play nicely with voltage, I've seen some report that theirs is doing best at 2.5. But it might not have anything to do with signal strength at all...

My thoughts exactly! :D
