I am wondering if i can stick an 80 watt peltier on my x800XTPE. I have some kind of 400 Watt PSU. Running on it i have a 12 volt pump, Intel p4 cpu running at 3.6ghz, a hard drive, videocard, mobo, cdrom, floppy, and ram. Will my psu fail if I plugged in an 80 watt peltier into it?

with all that i would say that your psu would start to crash. that is alot of strin on your psu without the peltier

you can always get a meanwell psu online that handles an 80w pelt, goes for $25 or so.

Yup, I would look into the meanwell....more then likely that your psu wouldn't be able to handle it.

Check ebay for meanwell power supplies.

K i got a free one from my hardware teacher. The psu is 250 watt rated 22 amps. Is that good enough to run 2 80 watt peltier. If it is not then can i use it somehow else?

Sorry i am a noob at this. :(

What voltage are the pelts.

What are Imax and Vmax?

Imax is 8 amps and Vmax is 15.2 volts for the video card and for the processor the Imax is 24A and the Vmax is 15.2 volts as well. I am guessing I'll need buy a good psujust for the peltiers, right?. Also is it too much to run 2 peltiers on one radiator? I haven't decided which radiator to get yet cause i dont know which one is best, same for the pump.

Your 22 amp PSU should handle 16 amps no problem.
But are you sure it will work upto 15volts?

You will need a bigish rad to dissipate the extra 243watts from the pelts, (thats max wattage, it may be less)

Lol i not sure about anything right now, pelts are confusing... So very confused... My 400 watt psu is rated 35 amps but still only 12 volts. I don't think i ever saw any psu being able to handle more than 12

I am guessing I will have to buy the meanwell one for another 100 bucks cause I really dont wanna buy used stuff, had enough bad experiences with used computer parts already.

K screw the cpu 226Watt peltier it ends up being simply too expensive with a new psu and all, besides my liquid temos will probably suffer a lot. What if I plug in my pump into the :banana::banana::banana:ty psu and put a single 80 watt peltier into my 400 Watt, now without the pump?

If you are going to be running the rest of your system from this thing then I would not recommend running the pelt from it also. What all will the psu be powering?

I will be running a 226w pelt and 80w pelt soon so I can let you know how much heat you will have to deal with. I am going to try 2x 120.2 rads to dissipate it.
