I was looking around online one day and I saw that some people had connected their Xbox systems to their computers. I got really interested in trying to do this since i dont have a TV in my room and i dont like playing out in the living room. Unfortunatly no matter where i looked i could find no guides or any help on how to do this. I think that you might just have to buy a tv tuner card and hook it up but im not sure. Can anyone help me out please! Thanks guys your great!

you need an "x2vga" adaptor.

http://www.x2vga.com/

The prices of X2VGA+ for international customers are as follows:
Sale price: US$ 64.95 Per Piece
Handling and Shipping fees: US$ 13 (flat rate per shipment)

i don't think so. there just a basic company that makes those, and i dont think they make enough to supply retailers.

i have one and it works pretty good. but remember you can buy a cheap 15-20" tv for around 100-150bucks.

This device cost almost half the price of the xbox, should try ebay for a better price.
Thanks

The X2VGA is worth every penny. I never realized how good games look in 720p compared to the normal NTSC resolution (512i). I'll never go back to a regular TV for my xBox.

TV cards wont support the FULL 720p or 1080i a LCD display can i believe.

Plus a Decent to good vid card will cost about the same as the xvga unit. and the xvga unit doesnt need a PC to run, just a HD/720p LCD.

Umm....yeah...pretty lame thread here guys...uh...Its called VEEEEVOOOOO. Spell it !! VIVO !!

It came out like...NOT yesterday ??

You just hook up your xbox/ps2 video out and audio out cables into a special adapter you get with at least ALL ATI vivo cards and you can get it urself at Radioshack for 10 bucks if you have a vivo card.

You cannot compare the VIdeo in/Video Out capabilities of video cards with a true VGA adapter for the Xbox.

Even trying to compare the crappy VIVO quality output to a true VGA adapter is plain silly....

He may as well just grab a cheap tv as that would probably give better quality then the VIVO output..

are you sure vivo or tv tuner cards will work? they have quite a lengthy processing time, even with onboard encoding to switch from NTSC to VGA. its like a 2-3 second delay on my hauppauge pvr 250

Don't buy from Lik Sang unless they are the only store that has it (Sadly they usually are because they have a great staff compared to the other importers) They jack up the prices on stuff to incredible levels.

I have the PVR 250 as well, and there is definately a delay there, so be careful with TV tuner cards

I used TV in from my ATI X800 XT PE and it ran with 0 delay and looked "alright"

But the point of the X2VGA is not to play games on your computer, the point of the x2VGA is TO PLAY GAMES IN HIGH DEFINITION

And trust me, once you play xbox in HD, you will go to your friends house and watch him playing and go "ewwww" cause it is nowear near as sharp

My x2vga is still available for sale in the FS forums too if you havent got anything yet

i love my xbox, its my one stop media center (pop a 250gig hd in there and its heaven)... But I think it would make more sense (economically speaking) for you just to get a tv in ur room... BUt if you already have a nice Moniter hooked up to ur PC then I would suggest just buying the adapter then... Snoop around the forums on xbox-scene you'll finds tons of usefull stuff there. And if you don't already have it, make sure u get xbox media center and xlink kai (to play games online)... It's soo much fun!

thats just dumb if you get atv in card its crap you would have to spend 1k plus for a video toaster 1:1 car belive me i have a crapy input card and i borke it into peice you cant play crap on those cards a true vga adapter is the way to go but i hink the xbox 2 will have dvi out cant waight i have 2 moniters with dual view its hell nice i woudl sugest the adapter versus crapy input card if you get a good input card (1k plus videotoaster) that is another story.
