I've never been an Intel or AMD fanboy, but in about a week I should have my hands on a 333mhz 2600+, as I have an AMD phase change. I knew I was going to go back to AMD I can't afford Intel's finest, and it looks like I'm going to have to let my 2.26B go. I was hoping to get a Granite Bay board, but then I found out they'd be around $300, so AMD here I come:)

I just sent googlegear an e-mail, because they have a 2600+ w/ 333mhz advertised as 2.133ghz, which is impossible because that would need a 12.85x multiplier. My guess is it is a 12.5x and is clocked at 2075mhz, but I need to make sure. If all goes well it will be here wednesday/thursday. Also I need a new motherboard for it, any suggestions? I don't want to spend over $150 on it either.

Anybody Else?:slap: Go check pricewatch man...you can pick up that 2600+ for 290, and for that same price, you can get a 2.6B P4 which will hand the 2600+ it's ass. The 2.8, which is showing at 409 right now is 50 bucks off the price 2700+ which is only available in limited numbers to begin with...and come monday when intel has it's next price drop, expect it to go even lower. And also take into consideration the non-existant 2800+ which should go for about 420 or so. The price factor is no longer really an issue anymore. Intel is straight up winning in strictly performance as well as bang for the buck. Also remember the highest percentage of nice, big OC's are coming from Intel chips on air, unlike these huge AMD OC's which are requiring phase change cooling. Sure AMD has some gems that make it out...but the better chance of getting a nice big out of the box OC lies with Intel as well. AMD is in some really deep ass sh*t right now and it's gonna take a huge damn shovel to get them out.
