I cleaned house at AMD event [Archive]

I took home 2x 2400+ processors and lots of shwag.

I missed the main event by one question, I was on stage as "FUGGER Xtremesystems.org" I was the only geek there using alias w/web address.

Kinda funny when I won a CPU in every catagory and they call your name over the PA system. You are only allowed one CPU unless you are one of the lucky one who get to go one stage and compete in questions and ending in the battle of the boxes.

By the end of the event they knew who FUGGER was.

This was the first event where they gave away 2400+, they said all the previous stops they gave away 2100+

They recorded the event to publish later, you will see FUGGER on stage.

Also when you go, use your online name and web address, it is allowed and represents!

I scored a CPU @ the Northern Virginia stop. They didn't have them there, so you had to leave your address. Hope they don't screw around too long getting them to us. They couldn't even tell us what speed they'd be, lol....it was like they didn't know if they didn't have the package right there in front of them to read. :D

Well, I emailed them about the CPU. They said it will be sent out tomorrow via 2-day Fedex. Semi-bad news is that its a 2200+ & not a 2400+...kinda a shame. I don't understand why they're settling for giving out what is basically now "old" CPU's this year. Last year was the fastest CPU(1800+) & mobo(KT266) that was available @ the time...the package was worth like $350....whereas this year they're giving out less prizes, and only worth about $150 or less. Kinda selfish on my part to mention this...but I'd think they'd be giving out 2600+'s by now, lol.

Took the wife this time & her # won...gave this CPU to my cousin as he went with me both times and came up empty handed...I've got one coming in the mail from the DC event anyway :D

P.S. It was a 2200+ again...but at least they had em there this time rather than mailing them to ya, hehe.
