Hey Fellas, got a question to ask of everyone....

Does anyone think that the koolance exos setup would be stout enough to cool the swifttech 462uht wb/226w pelt combo? I would like to go with a pelt setup and i would like the ease of setup that the exos has going for it.

thanks for any help

Na no chance the rad wouldent be up to the job and neither would the pump and for the price of the exos you may aswell buy your own radiator and pump that can handel a tec.

You may be rigth.. but i was just looking for something that looked good and is easy to setup. I dont really want to cut up my case and i dont think i have any room for a rad bigger than a Black Ice Micro

I have tried the combo you mentioned and Wayne is right, heh heh the EXOS can never handle that kind of heat from the 226W beast............the "NO NO" combo :slash:

That exos looks pretty cool. How cold did the cold plate actually get.

It went down to 15 degree C in less than 2 minutes but the water is getting really warm so I have to stop....heehee but then again the ambient here is 30 degree C......so I guess if you have a below 20 degree C ambient, maybe this combi can still work.....

One question though : Does the water block still work as normal without powering up the peltier ?

Yea it works fine with out the tec im actually using one at the moment with out it. Just take off the coldplate and tec but you will have to cut down the bolts so it will mount properly.

what I meant is leaving everything intact as seen on the pic above , but without powering up the tec, does it still work like a normal w/b ? does the tec cause any barrier to heat transmitting from the cpu since it is sitting in between the cold-plate and the w/b but without powering up.......

Na that wont work the tec will proberly act as an insualtor and your chip will burn out.

Yeah, if the TEC is not on, your setup won't work. TECs are pretty decent thermal insulators when they're turned off.

thanks for the info hua.... but its too late now... i decided to just go with a heatercore and an eheim 1060...

I got a 1250 pumping round 10m of tubing with one block, its plenty fast. I just thought the 1060 was over kill and that much more expensive that it wasn't worth it. Is it any louder? My 1250could rattle, but if you bolt it down it dont (theory - from hand pressing it down) or as I do, put some loo roll under it. It looks really professional!

Volvo heatercores are great! Takes a little spit and polish though. Worth the effort of saving yourself £70 IMO.

well i was originally going to go with a smalller pump but i found this one for only $60, so i couldnt pass it up... its really quiet too... although you cant hear anything over the 2 sunon 120's on my rad....

I can here my 80mm case fans @ 7v, but not as much as at @12v, although they still work @ 5v. I cant here the 60mm 7000rpm delta screamers (*4) on my rad because I piped it outside under my window and they can only work at 12v!

Mate i need your help about fitting NON koolance waterblocks in my EXOS...

I can see you are using the 1/4" fittings for this Swifty block...

Did you have to change the fittings in the block?

Would i have better performance with NON koolance waterblocks for both my graphics card and CPU block?

Could you check my thread please?: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6162
