How high u pushed your CH-5 sticks.

Yesterday I tested my XMS3200CD 1.2

And I got 3D Mark/SuperPi stable 230Mhz 2,3,3,11 with 2.9V

Is this good or bad ?

its ok, can u lower your timings any more or not? some godly CH-5 do 2-2-2-5. What hapens if u put more volts into em? (3.2v)

I get 240 2/2/2/6 3.2v with mine (OCZ 3500EL). They needed days of burn in when I got them though.

On my infinity, used to get 243 FSB prime (24hrs) 3d2k1, etc solid stable on CH5 10-2-2-2 1T @ 3.2 V. Would lock up in A64 for me, so they went w/ the infinity.

OCZ EL, 235 2.5,2,2,11 on 3.0v atm, seem stable, but as mentioned above they seem to need a good burn in...
They also HATED the NF7, couldnt get them above 225 on the same timings with more voltage, no matter what bios :S

My Geil PC3200 (probably CH-5) can do stable 3DMark01 and Pi 1M(only tested for now) 240mhz 1:1(x12 multi, x3 htt) CL2.2.2.0.13.16 T1 @ 3.5v. Perhaps after grilling them for some time, they could do 250mhz 1:1 with same settings. That would remove the need to upgrade to DDR500 Ballistix, I guess...

Just discovered the stick could do those timings at that speed. Those are very good timings right?

The stick is a 512mb one from a Kingston DC Kit. I still have the other one, but it hasn't been tested yet.

EDIT: They can do 1M at 242mhz max for now. Screnshot at 240mhz:

What program is good for ram burn in? What did you use and at what setting? I have that DFI bios with that memtest program build in. Is that a good program to do it in? If yes, what settings/tests should I run, that'll be best for burn in?

I want mine to do 249mhz CL2.2.2.0 T1, but they can only do Pi M4/3DMark01 at 242mhz for now :D

My memory behaves the same as yours. 2x256 ch-5 does 249 2-5-2-2 at 3.2volts totally stable in Memtest. But once I get 250 it errors in memtest. Even if I increase the voltage to 3.3 it errors. If I run at the most relax settings it still crashes at 250. Sucks, dunno whats holding me back. These sticks cost me 100 bucks 1 year ago.

My A64 NC maxout at 2360 mhz.
Now:
Mem 240 mhz 2-2-2 1T , CPU Below 1900 mhz , all works fine stable at all tests.
Mem 236 mhz 2-2-2-2T , CPU 2360 mhz , all works fine stable at all tests.
Mem 200-240 2-2-2-1T , Cpu 2000-2360 mhz non stable , fail in all tests.

STEvil

its not, and he's definately not doing 300fsb 1:1 unless its hyinx or samsung which definately rules out 2-2-2 above 230.

3.4v is only enough for about 260 even on the best of bh/ch chips anyways.

fareastgq
10-27-2004, 09:36 PM
sure it is, it wouldn't run 2 2 2 timings at 3 volts or lower, only 3 2 2, I don't have the UTGB board anymore, it wasn't mine, but I am running 2 2 2 on my nf7-s. vdd mod and my cpu is limiting my fsb on this board though. Somone even took off the spreaders, you can go to corsair's website and confirm this yourself :)

Running 300 2-2-2/3-2-2 @ 3.4vdimm with Corsair is not even remotely probable.
Not even half multi on A64 will get you that.

jeez you guys, I'll post up some damn screenies when I get another board. and why is it not possible? I have a ocz booster, I can run up to 4.0 if I want, boggle. Do you have a couple sticks of xms pro's? I'm talking from experience, not some BS I read. Many ppl have gotten 300 HTT on a lanpartyGB. The guy that you just posted about, either you have some crap sticks, or your board is screwed. you can always rma them and get some new ones. Corsair ain't no joke and you didn't test it with a lanparty + booster, you tested with an msi.

hes saying its impossible with 3.4 v....

STEvil
10-28-2004, 05:24 PM
Yes, lots of people have hit 300HTT+

NONE were using CH-5 and NONE have been very far past 300 with better than 2.5-3-3-7 timings with more than 1x512mb ram.

In fact, nobody has ever had a Winbond based stick of ram at 300mhz on AMD to the best of my knowledge, and certainly not at 3.4v.

PDP LL is CH-5 ? shroom where do you get all the ram for testing ? :D

The Patriot 3200LL I bought about a year ago or more
The old Winbond bh-5 that I had, I bought at fry's at the begining of last year
The Kingston 3000 I bought about a year ago too
the Kingston 3500 is the stuff that Pc Ice bought about 2 years ago when it first came out and we split em, he had 1 and I had one. I gave him my stick and he gave me the money to buy that old winbond bh-5 above
The TCCD that ive been playing with is also Pc Ice's that he got from centon.
The Hynix D5's are Pc Ice's, Opp gave them to him.
The Twinmos 3700 was donated to me by Nomjr

I think thats all of it, might be more laying around somewhere. But most of it was bought from Fry's
