Hey,

When Vmodding, this week, I have putted a little too much solder on my wire, and the extra solder got onto the pins beside it, I can still see that the exess is bulbing over the pins, but I dont know how to kind of retract the solder.

Can someone help me please?

Thanks

he's not being negative

you can buy solder suckers at like your local electronics store....basically it sucks up the solder while you melt it

A 'Solder Sucker' is a tool used to remove solder. ;)

I'd just get some solder wick....Just place the wick on the area with the excessive solder and heat it up with your iron. The wick will draw almost all of the solder up.

He was NOT being negative... Go to your local electronics store and get some

HOW TO DESOLDER (http://www.aaroncake.net/electronics/desolder.htm)

A Solder Sucker will do ok, but for precision work on SMD, and other small components I prefer the braided solder-wick... Either the Sucker, or the Wick is available from Radio Shack, Either will work, The Sucker should run $7-15 dollars, and the Braid maybe $3 Honestly, if your working on electronics its a good idea to have both...

Karnivore summed it up nicely. You'll probably be best off with the wick for percision jobs, as the solder sucker can be a bit too big and in the way for small stuff.

Btw craig, thats an offical warning for name calling ;) :p:

LOL "solder sucker", this is the funnyest thread I have read all day.

If you have the right tip on your iron you can lift the excess solder off the chips, this is better than the more inprecice sucker, which might be a bit big for this sort of work.

You can use solder wick stuff that Karnivore linked to as well. Its quite handy.

heat the desoldering braid off board before hand so ya not putting unnecessary heat into the IC when ya desoldering

Exactly the same pumps we use a college (minus the antistatic end)

I dont like using metal pumps for some reason ;\

Man...that moment was PRICELESS!!! When Skate, who has been offering a vmodding "serivce" didn't know what the heck a solder sucker or even a wick was.

Pretty scary service if the person doesn't know how to remove what he's putting on...

I wonder if I should try to teach him about cold / hot joints and proper tinning... ;)
