I got a Asus p4c800 deluxe with a prescot 3.2C, I am trying to fix for my friend. his temps are reaching 70c on idle. I putted a few 80mm fans next to the cpu and its much better now 42c to 50c. I got the intel stock HSF plugged into the molex 12v. I update the bios of the motherboard to the latest one. And also tried mbm ans Asus probe both show same results.
Thanks

get used to it man the prescott runs hot! my prescott ran 3-4c where as my northwood ran -20c under my promie!! i would recomend a beter heat sink and a stronger fan. im not so sure id want to run my prescott with the boxed cooler. go look around the forum youl see plenty of threads on prescotts and heat :)

Prescott 3.2C?? Northwood 3.2C or Prescott 3.2E. Take your pick. :D

that woudl be a 3.2E

as far as i kno.. a 3.2C is a northy w/ 512k cache

a 3.2C pressy (i havnt seen that but according to the other guy it exists) would be a pressy w/ 512k

a 3.2e is just that except 1meg

I really don't think their are 512K L2 prescotts...just seems like a waste of time to me. 512k cache would make the die even smaller which is normally good but in the Prescott's case its better to have a larger die size, even if it costs Intel more to make.

Intel would name the 512k l2 prescott to Northwood, LOL.

:D

I too don't think there are any 512k prescotts.
